Save yourself the time I wasted— these are 5 decluttering lessons I wish someone would’ve told me when I first started decluttering:
1. 🧾You don’t have to start with the hardest stuff.
Small, easy wins (like old receipts or expired pantry food) build momentum.
2. 🧺Storage solutions aren’t the first step.
Buying bins before decluttering just organizes clutter instead of removing it.
3 💥Decision fatigue is real.
Limit how long you work in one session to avoid mental burnout.
4. 🧼Regular small steps beat weekend long deep cleans.
Short, frequent sessions make progress feel manageable instead of exhausting.
5. 📦Decluttering is a skill, not a one-time purge.
It’s not a single event, it’s ongoing actions that you get better at with time.
