Brian & Nancy Jans – Owners / Operators

Brian and Nancy Jans founded Shade Plus Inc. in March of 2010, starting the business from their home in Elora. At the time, Brian was working in the construction industry while Nancy was home-schooling their four children.

Brian initially handled all sales and installations and now focuses primarily on sales and service calls. With years of hands-on experience in the shade industry and a background in construction, he helps customers find the best solutions for their homes.

Nancy manages the office, where she takes care of phone calls and emails, scheduling, ordering, and accounting. She is often the first point of contact and the friendly voice ready to assist customers.

Brian grew up in a small family-owned awning business in Burlington, Ontario, where he developed a lifelong passion for shade products, sales, and construction.

Nancy was raised in Guelph, Ontario and built her experience through several years in retail and customer service roles before starting their family.

Together, Brian and Nancy have four children, three of whom are married and one grandchild.

Outside of work, they enjoy traveling, spending time on the boat, and making memories with their family.
