A new custom home is officially underway on a double corner lot in a well-established 1960s neighbourhood in the North Glanfield area of Hamilton🏡

The existing home is now being demolished to make way for a new 2,600 sq. ft. bungalow, designed by Nauta Home Designs and managed through construction by our project management partner, Onyx Building Group.

This home was designed with comfortable, everyday family living in mind, with 2+1 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a three-car garage, main-floor laundry, a walk-in pantry, and covered porches at the front, side, and rear.

At the heart of the home is a spacious open-concept kitchen, great room, and eating area that extends directly out to a large covered rear patio, creating an easy connection between indoor and outdoor living.

We put together this quick rendering to give a feel for how the finished home will look in its setting while the real thing starts taking shape. With demolition now underway, we’re excited to watch it move from drawings to reality.

For this client, it’s truly a start-to-finish process: custom home design with Nauta Home Designs, followed by project management and construction oversight with Onyx Building Group.

A look at one of our Niagara-on-the-Lake designs taking shape. 🏡

We’ve been following the progress of this custom bungalow throughout construction and capturing a few of the stages along the way as the drawings become a home.

The design combines a prominent timber-framed front entry, stone and vertical siding exterior details, an attached two-car garage, and a covered rear porch overlooking the treed property.

Inside, the main floor was designed around an open kitchen, eating area and great room, with a separate dining room and a spacious primary suite. Downstairs, the finished basement adds even more living space, including a recreation area and wet bar.

There’s still work to be done, but it’s been great seeing the details come together on site. We’re looking forward to sharing the finished home soon.

A custom home is more than a set of plans; it’s the beginning of a family’s next chapter.

This recently completed two-storey country home in Niagara-on-the-Lake was thoughtfully designed to balance timeless architecture with everyday functionality. From the welcoming wraparound porch to the bright, open living spaces inside, every detail was planned to suit the way this family lives now while giving them room to grow for years to come.

The finishing touches are still underway, with a matching pool house currently under construction, but it’s already easy to picture summer days by the pool, kids running across the lawn, and evenings spent watching the sunset from the porch.

We’re grateful to have been part of bringing this vision to life, and we can’t wait to see the property fully complete.

From rendering to reality; and now, very nearly a finished home.

One of our favourite features is the beautiful covered front porch. It feels perfectly suited to this Ridgeville setting, and we can already imagine the many evenings this young family will spend there; relaxing after busy days, watching the seasons change, and enjoying the place they chose to continue calling home.

Replacing the original farmhouse allowed the owners to create the space, flow, and functionality their growing family needed without giving up the idyllic country setting they loved. The overall planning also included a separate detached garage, providing plenty of room for vehicles, storage, and the practical needs of rural family life.

It’s incredibly rewarding to see the original vision become a real home; and to imagine all the life that will soon unfold within it. 🏡

We love seeing projects move from sketches and elevations into real life. This custom home was thoughtfully designed to fit the property, the surrounding landscape, and the way our clients want to live in the space for years to come.

This rendering was created for visualization purposes to help bring the vision to life before construction is complete, and we’re excited to share real progress photos as the build continues.

A warm sandy stone exterior, soft board and batten details, and a tucked-in semi-rural setting make this one feel timeless while still feeling current. We can’t wait to watch it take shape.
