PLS Security

From a small milk truck to a store front of about 500 square feet in size, Peter and Janet took on the City of Fort McMurray to become a major player in the locksmith industry.

From unlocking houses on cold freezing nights to rescuing baby’s and children from locked car’s, he was there for every call.

In 1991, I got more involved with the company as a apprentice, following in my fathers foot steps. I took on the long nights of unlocks, re-keying homes and business.

I took a strong interest in security systems, and we started PLS Security.

With a lot of training, hard work and refusing to give up, I turned PLS Security in to Fort McMurray’s number 1 home and commercial security company.

We came up on many time struggling to meet the needs of the customer’s needs, we had to higher more staff. From a office of 2 people we have had a staff of 3 techs, 2 full-time journeyman locksmiths and office staff to meet the needs.

We continued to educate ourselves further in the industry when we faced a challenge in 2012 with the RMWB Fire Prevention branch introduced the ULC S561 standard for fire alarm monitoring.

Lots of hard work, and it paid off. I was the last to apply for my certification, and the first to receive our listing with ULC. A moment ill always remember!

Though we have moved from location to location and continue to grow, we faced our hardest time yet.

Peter Hallett left us peacefully with his family at his side on Nov 2, 2017 in Duncun BC.

He has brought Fort McMurray security needs to the highest of levels and was involved in many organizations throughout the RMWB.

I told my dad on his last night with us that I will continue to make PLS Security a strong company and to make sure his name continues to be heard.

PLS Security is a Local full service locksmith shop and home, business and vehicle security provider.

Though I am not perfect in everything I do, I do make sure that the job is complete to more then the customers request. All done at a fair price.
