Some before, during, and after of a large maple removal today. The GRCS came in handy and one happy customer is now well stocked with firewood.

Greetings 2025! Spring has sprung, the snow is melting, birds are singing, and we have a new employee this year.

Welcome to the team, Dot!

As we finish getting equipment ready for the upcoming year we just want to remind you the phone line is open. So as we all emerge from hibernation, take a look at the trees and shrubs around your property and give us a call if there's anything you want to see change.

Working yesterday at the Marysville Community Gardens to maintain their fruit trees and edible berry shrubs in what will officially be the last job of 2024.

With that finished we are calling an end to the season. It was a great year meeting new customers, learning new techniques, and growing in all ways.

The phone line will remain open for emergency work over the winter, although hopefully there's none needed.

I look forward to seeing new and returning customers next spring. 🌿

Don't do this folks, just don't.

While the previous owner had good intentions of being environmentally friendly by installing a clothesline, he chose a poor method. By wrapping a chain around the trunk of this silver maple and leaving it while the tree grew he essentially choked it. This process, known as girdling, disrupts the flow of nutrients to the canopy and is a sure death sentence if not caught early enough.

Not only was this particular case bad for the tree, it also created a hazard for the new homeowner. The girdled area created a significant weak spot and with this large lead aimed at the house, deck, and service wires it would have caused catastrophic damage when (not if) it failed.

While trees can provide support for many activities like slack lines and ninja courses anything wrapped around any part of a tree should ideally be removed once the activity is over or at the latest the end of the season it's being used.
