So excited to watch this amazing woman officially cut the ribbon on a project she has lived breathed dreamed and brought so much community together around since I have met her.

This woman, this schoolyard, these gardens, these children, this incredible raingarden, some seeds, and the amazing group of volunteers that is Pollinate / Polliniser Aylmer are the reason four of us got together and created Canopée Localeaf.

Today, watching her glow, and take a bow, my heart is filled with so much joy, and love, and gratitude that our paths crossed. Watch for a live stream of her speech shortly if I can figure out how to work this 😉

Tellement excitée de voir cette femme extraordinaire couper officiellement le ruban pour un projet qu'elle a respiré, rêvé, et amené tellement de communauté ensemble depuis que je la connais.

Cette femme, cette cour d'école, ces jardins, ces enfants, cet incroyable jardin de pluie, quelques semences, et le super groupe de bénévoles de Pollinate / Polliniser Aylmer sont la raison pourquoi quatre d'entre nous ont créé Canopée Localeaf.

Aujourd'hui, de la voir rayonner et dire merci à tout le monde, mon cœur est plein de joie, d'amour, et de gratitude que nos chemins se sont croisés. Regardez pour un live de son discours, si je peux comprendre comment ça marche 😉

A lovely surprise arrived today! 🌳250 of them actually, courtesy of our friends over at Enviro Educ-Action, made possible by funding from the Ministry of Forestry and Natural Resources.

Come visit the ⛺ CANOPÉE Localeaf⛺ tent next weekend during 🌱 Seedling Sunday🌱, and pick one up, or several, and help us grow the Aylmer Canopée together.

Quelles belles surprises on a reçues aujourd’hui : 🌳250 arbres nous ont été livrés grâce à Enviro Éduc-Action, par l’entremise du ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts.

Le 31 mai, passez nous voir sous ⛺ la tente de Canopée Localeaf ⛺ au 🌱Dimanche des semis🌱 et partez avec un ou plusieurs arbres pour agrandir la canopée d’Aylmer!

Starting June 7th, find Localeaf at the Old Aylmer Farmers' Market (Marché Vieux Aylmer) every Sunday, between 9am and 2pm at Parc Commémoratif. We will be there with a rotating selection of young native plants, shrubs, and trees.

Your plant purchases help support our mission and work to Pollinate Aylmer, develop and deliver community learning programs, and grow urban "Canopée" in our neighbourhoods. Look for our new orange tent, and come say hi. Our focus there will be on pollinator friendly, native plants for home gardens, as well as opportunities to learn about the ecosystem value for each plant we bring with us, and how you can help restore wildlife habitat through small actions.

Have a look at our fancy new plant database, and let us know if there is something you see that catches your eye, and you would like us to pot it up and bring it with us sooner rather than later.

Dès le 7 juin, venez nous voir au Marché d'alimentation du Vieux-Aylmer tous les dimanches, entre 9 h et 14 h, au parc Commémoratif. Nous serons sur place avec une sélection changeante de jeunes plantes indigènes, d'arbustes et d'arbres.

Vos achats de plantes aident à soutenir notre mission et notre travail pour Pollinate Aylmer, à développer et offrir des programmes d'apprentissage communautaires, et à faire grandir la « Canopée » urbaine dans nos quartiers. Cherchez notre nouvelle tente orange et venez nous dire bonjour. Notre priorité au marché sera de proposer des plantes indigènes favorables aux pollinisateurs pour les jardins résidentiels, tout en offrant l'occasion d'en apprendre davantage sur la valeur écologique de chaque plante que nous apportons, et sur la façon dont vous pouvez aider à restaurer l'habitat de la faune par de petits gestes.
