Four weeks after our spring cleanup and first fertilizer application, here are the results!

Considering the dry, windy conditions we’ve had across Alberta with very little rainfall, we’re happy with how this lawn is progressing. The grass is thickening up, greening nicely, and responding exactly how we hoped.

What are we doing?
• Applying our Spring & Fall Mix 20-20-20 fertilizer
• Mowing every 2-3 days
• Keeping the lawn higher at 3” to 3.5”
• Watering deeply and infrequently to encourage deeper root growth

The weather hasn’t been hot enough for major w**d pressure yet, but building a healthy, dense lawn now helps set the stage for a stronger lawn all season long.

Today I planted my flowers using FoliarTech Organic Elite PG – Extreme Bloom 4-12-8, a premium organic bloom fertilizer designed to support flowering and fruiting plants during their most important growth stages.

Why I love it:
• High phosphorus helps encourage bigger blooms and stronger root development
• Potassium supports healthier plants and overall plant performance

Getting the best results from your liquid applications isn’t only about the product, it’s also about proper application. 🌱

In this video, Anthony explains how to properly set the dial on both hose-end sprayers and backpack sprayers for even coverage and better performance.

A few things that matter most 👇

• How fast you walk
• The square footage you’re covering
• The amount of product mixed in the tank
• Keeping a consistent spray pattern

Walking too quickly can reduce coverage, while walking too slowly can lead to overapplication. The goal is even distribution across your lawn or garden area for healthier, more consistent results.

Anthony also shares an important backpack sprayer tip: keep the battery charged properly and avoid storing it dead for long periods. Taking care of your equipment helps it last longer and keeps your applications running smoothly all season.
