Here are some afters and befores/progress shots of the interior of our previous post.

As you can see there were double doors leading outside.

We removed the doors, addressed water damage beneath the floor, and replaced it with a beautiful new window curiously out Louwes Windows and doors in Vineland.

Many thanks to Roberts Renovations for assistance in the window installation.

Once installed and framed, we spray foamed every singled gap an open space that led to them outside to completely seal it off from the elements.

Next step, we added insulation in the wall as well as in the floor along the exterior wall between the floor joists.

We replaced the subfloor with some beautiful new 3/4” plywood.

Next we added vapour barrier over the insulation, and then of course the drywall!

Stay tuned, next we have the mudding and taping, brand new carpet, and trim!

Some afters and befores, as well as some progress shots from our latest project.

This one was fun!

We removed a south facing double door, that led onto a balcony that was directly above a wrap around covered porch, and replaced it with a window, and extended the roof to maintain the wrap around covered porch.

After 45 years, water damage was occurring behind the scenes of the doorway.

Once removing the doorway, we were able to access the subfloor and get to work.

As mentioned above, we removed the doors that led to the master bedroom, and added a window to maintain some natural lighting inside.

A balcony may seem like an appealing feature, but over the years it didn’t see as much use as originally thought.

No problem, we took care of it quickly.

Without the balcony in place, the front covered wrap around porch had a massive bare spot/opening that needed to be addressed next.

We framed it back in, to stay original with the official plans of the house, and extended the roofline to continue beneath the window and also to give the front porch a continuous look.

With the framing complete, the siding and the roofing could be done to blend everything in as if nothing had ever happened!

Just a note for everyone who reads this page.

I have been getting alot of unsolicited fake reviews from accounts that are offering to gain me followers and post good fake reviews for me for a price.

I just want everyone here to be aware that these reviews are not real, and I do not buy followers or fake reviews.

I would have no problem getting real good reviews from actual customers if I asked.

It also may say I do not respond to msgs rapidly, this is because I try to ignore these accounts as they are msging me sometimes from multiple accounts a few times a day, every single week.

Integrity is important to me.

Keep this in mind when hiring a company on Facebook as their followers and reviews may be bought.

For this reason I’m not too crazy about posting a ton on Facebook, which is unfortunate because it’s a great way to showcase our work.

I’ve attached images so you can see exactly what businesses receive from these fake accounts.

That being said, if you do wish to contact us about actual work the best way to do so is via our phone number 905-869-3339.

Thanks everyone for reading and following, and I appreciate the actual supporters, and have a great weekend.

Here are some progress shots of a project we are working on currently.

If anyone knows me personally they may recognize this home.

We collaborated with Robert’s Renovations on a door removal and window install.

This customer customer used to have a balcony that extended off the master bedroom, which over the years was not being used, and water damage was occurring within the opening.

We decided to remove the balcony, repair damages, and close off the opening altogether. Closing it off entirely would reduce the amount of natural light going inside so we decided to install a large window at the top.

For the next step, we will be extending the roof across the lower half of the window, and then new siding will be added to that section of the house covering up the existing barn board.

Follow along for more progress shots!

Here are some after and befores of a stair rebuild we recently completed. This was a fun project.

By building an independent structure that was free standing, we were able to leave the option of repairing the deck at a later date without disturbing or deconstructing the new stairs. This leaves the customer with options for the future.

If you notice in the before picture, the deck had some rot which was occurring that compromised the integrity of the stairs and lead to their current state.

The stringers, as well as some of the treads from the previous stairs were directly making contact with the soil. This draws moisture into the wood, and result in rot. So to avoid this problem in the future, we took the time to dig out the soil from underneath the steps, level it off, and add concrete pavers as a base for the stair structure to rest on.

Rather than putting pavers everywhere underneath the new stair structure, we supported it throughout, and left space for airflow. This allows moisture to not collect, and therefore it won’t be absorbed by the wood.

This increases the lifespan of the stairs. Now water has somewhere to flow, and the air is able to dry the area out.

This is the difference between someone who can do something, versus someone knowing how to properly do something.

At Wine Country Carpentry we pride ourselves in being a trained Carpenters through the Ontario College of Skilled Trades, and making sure things are built properly, safely, and to last.
