Tucked into the lush landscape of historic Fort Langley, Form Studio is a modest yet striking workspace designed by .ca The building’s quiet presence is elevated by a carefully crafted wood façade, finished with Sansin SDF— Labrador Brown. Sansin SDF is a durable, low-VOC (volatile organic compound) wood finish, chosen not only for its environmental benefits but also for its ability to protect the cedar cladding from moisture and weather. The exterior cladding features western red cedar, milled into two complementary profiles: wide 1×10 boards create a smooth surface, while slender 2×2 battens add texture and visual depth. SDF Onyx was used on the plywood elements, adding subtle contrast and depth while maintaining a cohesive, modern palette. The workspace blends into its lush surroundings through thoughtful detailing and high-performance finishes, providing both aesthetic appeal and longevity, making it ideal for the Pacific Northwest’s climate.

Located in Banff National Park, the Okâch - Îyethkabi Oûgitûbi pavilion is a
community gathering place that showcases regenerative architecture. Built by
HSS Design Build Ltd., the pavilion features mass timber construction, using
locally sourced dowel laminated timber (DLT) panels for its structure. The design,
inspired by the region’s rustic, prairie-style architecture, harmonizes with the natural
surroundings. A large overhang protects the building, supporting its 100-year design
life. For enhanced beauty and durability, exterior cedar timbers are finished with
Sansin SDF – Espresso, shielding the wood from water and UV damage throughout
Banff’s fluctuating climate – cold dry winters and warm summers.

Located in Winthrop, Washington — a region defined by cold winters and hot, dry summers — the home is thoughtfully constructed to respond to both environmental demand and aesthetic aspirations. To protect and preserve the exposed wood components, Sansin Precision Coat KP-30 in the colors Fawn 1208 and Blacksmith 1197 were applied as two coats, offering superior protection while maintaining the natural beauty of the timber. This careful balance of form and function underscores the projects commitment to sustainable building practices and high-performance materials.

What is KP-14+?

KP-14+ is a V***r permeable barrier coating for CLT. This coating is applied in factory or in the field and acts as a membrane coating on the exposed topsides of CLT panels during construction preventing moisture from damaging the undersides of the CLT panels. KP-14+ is designed as a 1-coat moisture protection plan in conjunction with KP-12 preventing mold growth, wood rot, and decay.

KP-14+ aggressively protects wood from water absorption while maintaining V***r permeability of bare wood. KP-14+ is highly durable, water-borne, and low in VOCs.

Nestled on the heart of Boston, MA, the David Rubenstein Treehouse at Harvard University designed by Studio Gang, showcases a forward-looking approach to sustainable design. The 55,000 sq.ft. structure pairs mass timber with innovative, low-carbon concrete to create a serene, nature-connected environment. Its exterior is finished in Sansin’s WoodForce Pale Gray (WF-01), a 0-VOC, naturally weathering wood treatment that delivers exceptional water-repellency and protection from UV, moisture and blackening. WoodForce Pale Gray offers the wood a calming presence while transitioning to a naturally weathered look. Together, these elements present a model for healthy, low-impact building that sets a compelling example for Boston and institutions around the world.

Team began the 2026 ETF26 sailing series in Los Alcázares on the shores of the Mar Menor today. The boat is led by skipper Graeme Sutherland (middle) and team mates Kai Coleman (right) and Severin Gramm (left). Follow along the teams experience this week as they test the waters March 11-14 at the stunning CAR Región de Murcia. Shifty light air sailing today was a tricky start to the week with expected higher breeze in the forecast.

Settled on North Pender Island, British Columbia, Clam Bay demonstrates a harmony between architecture, and nature. Designed by Blue Sky Architecture, this project conforms naturally to the lines of the forested hills and the ocean front. The roof is constructed of Douglas Fir glulam rafters set precisely to create an organic curving roofline. The featured entryway is built using western red cedar on the walls and trim. The beautifully accented Douglas Fir pivot door, trim, and facia are protected with 2 coats of SDF - Natural Cedar.

Revelstoke Mountain Retreat is nestled at the foot of Mount Mackenzie in Revelstoke, British Columbia. This private retreat demonstrates craftsmanship while radiating warmth in its alpine setting. The quality timber supplied by complement the mountains and towering evergreen forest. The interior and exterior timber’s character is enhanced and protected with two coats of Sansin SDF in a custom color. Sansin’s SDF is a penetrating finish for exterior and interior wood surfaces. SDF provides tough, effective protection with specially formulated oils and resins that pe*****te the wood. SDF provides water resistance, and UV protection as a water-borne low VOC wood coating technology.
