Besides being in the garden, where I love spending my time most, was also being here, fully present, yesterday at the Vendors Market at Georgian Bluffs supporting and home crafts. Especially being here 1000% supporting and cheering on for this beautiful spirited Niishnaabe Indo-Vietnamese family. I could not resist buying all four and from their two talented and very humbly young daughters. I mean how could you resist, look at her shining smile 🥰🥰🥰
It would mean so much to me if you hop over to and show your support by following them and their work and if you like to support their two young daughters by purchasing a few pins and/or stickers I’ll be more than happy to pick them up for you 🙏🏼 🥰 🙏🏼
Let’s show some local love to them ☺️

Sitting here is just too emotional.
This is my baby, my child….birthed right out of me with all the labour of pain and with such deep love that I can’t even begin to articulate at the moment 🥺

🥜 PEANUT UPDATE 🥜
These are the peanuts seedlings, they all germinated. I got these peanuts at a grocery store in the dry beans aisle, if you may be wondering.
WHAT’S INTERESTING with peanuts are that their paired set of leaves close or fold up in the dark or at night, swipe to see this phenomenon. I assume this is their means to protect themselves or conserve energy. I wasn’t able find much in the world of Google. If you know please share in the comment 😊

I tried to build a for my young greens but that didn’t work out very well sooooo….this is the makeshift of it. We are expecting below zero temperatures for the next four days here at and my greens are under a fleece blanket cover beneath this plastic. It’ll be interesting to see how well my makeshift cold frame holds out 🤔🤔🤔. I’m just exuding positive energy and thought for my little baby greens ☺️

🌿 THE GIFTS 🌿
What I love about Spring in the garden is discovering. Discovering the Gifts that our Mother Earth have kept safe for us over the winter to lovingly surprise us during this time. I love finding these special treasures, like a child on Christmas Eve filled with utter glee upon discovering what perennials have made it and what self seeded annuals may have popped up. It makes my heart smile with joy 🥰
What gifts have you discovered in your garden?

And oh! The 153 I planted in the Fall all came up, looking sturdy and strong. It’s going to a great garden year of season #2 🤗

I can’t wait to have garden fresh veggies. Made this with raw seasoned with soy/fish sauce, sesame oil, crushed fresh chili/garlic, cilantro and added boiled raw peanuts.
I love raw peanuts, it is such a great snack! And guess what?! I’m growing this year, something fun to try and I’m excited to learn something new. When it comes to that’s when you learn and become being more connected to the food that feeds and nourishes your soul. Do you agree 🥰

Going to be a (good) busy morning 😊Hope you have a fabulous day!!

I grow my own food because ____ (fill in blank)

….so that I could snap pics of them 🤷🏻‍♀️😆
Well…that’s just an added bonus.
I grow food because
🌱it makes me happy
🌱I trust what went into it
🌱it builds sustainability and resiliency
🌱it’s the most local, from garden straight to your plate (reduced carbon footprint…am all for that)
🌱it’s a mean of deeper connection to your food and to your land/earth 💚
🌱it’s an act of love to yourself, the earth and your community
🌱it’s my farmacy
🌱it’s a must have basic skill to own
🌱you get varieties
🌱and growing food is SIMPLY SEXYYY

Do you agree? Share with me why you grow food.

What a gorgeous day to be out and to be out in your garden. We have had crazy weather from snow yesterday to a sunny plus 10 Celsius today. Here I am working on my compost adding some brown materials to the box amd turning it. There’s something magical in the process of transforming wastes into black gold to feed back to the garden soil…a circular natural system, who doesn’t love that! The best gold in the world I think!
And the garlics…lots are popping up to greet and welcoming the Sun 🌞🌟🌞
Enjoy your Saturday!!

I have such a sweet spot for tomatoes and no temptation control. I picked this beauty up at a grocery store when I was visiting a friend in the city. I had selected 13 varieties to grow and started seeding already…so what is a girl to do with this one??? 🤷🏻‍♀️
Looks like I’ll be seeding 6 of this variety and I’ll worry about where I’m going to squeeze them in my garden space when the time comes…maybe in the front lawn 😉
(I’ve got the seeds being soaked in chamomile tea…apparently supposed to help with the germination and prevent damping, we shall see).

How many varieties are you growing?
