SSOL Gardens is a one of the larger farm vendors that attends the Kamloops Regional Farmers' Market.

They started with a family history of cooking from the garden and in 1995 with the help of family and friends planted their first real garden on their 20 acre farm located on the banks of the beautiful South Thompson River near Kamloops.

Today their farm produces certified organic vegetables, fruits, culinary flowers and herbs, which have grown from one garden to 17 rotating plots. Their mission is to provide top-quality organic produce for the local community, while maintaining a business that supports their family and contributes to a healthy community.

The beautiful fruits and vegetables of their labor give them great satisfaction by providing food of great quality, flavor and nutritional value. They believe that the life & health of the soil is vitally important to insuring that their produce has an abundance of the minerals and vitamins needed to fuel our bodies.

Additionally they give back to the community by being active with groups and projects like Farm2Chefs , Farm To School BC Kamloops, and coordinating the Seedy Saturday events each year.

Thank you to SSOL Gardens for being a part of our community and helping build resilience and food sovereignty in our region.

PRSI Cleans and repairs water, air, and soil using fast growing poplar trees and the UN endorsed carbon sequestering technology – biochar. Biochar has micropores which appear to be quite useful for soils, soil organisms, and nutrient cycling, that only appear when biomass (i.e. clean, woody plant matter) is Pyrolyzed or gasified.

For more information on biochar and PRSI projects check out their website at www.prsi.ca
