Today I had the pleasure of interviewing Kelowna's lead installer Dennis Robertson (AKA THE MUFFIN MAN).

Q: How long have you worked at Centra?

D: I have worked with Centra and been a share holder for 2 ½ years. I am currently a lead installer for the Kelowna installation dept.

Q: What kind of previous work experience did you have before joining the Kelowna install team?

D: I have always worked in construction. I have done custom home building, commercial high-rise forming and concrete, cabinetry and siding.

Q: Where did you grow up?

D: In the Okanagan. I grew up in Vernon, I moved to Armstrong for a while before moving to South East Kelowna.

Q: What do you do for fun?

D: I am engaged to my future wife Zaynah, we are planning to be married next September. The two of us share a passion for photography, and spend lots of time taking pictures of nature and chasing those perfect shots (see picture attached Dennis took of Kettlevalley). I also used to compete in freestyle snowboarding.

Q: What do you like most about Centra?

D: The core values and the people. We have a great time in Kelowna and it feels like family. I also appreciate the room for growth. I have always been interested in getting into project management in my future.

Q: Can you tell me how you picked up the nick name “Muffin Man” around the office?

D: I was really hungry one day and stole Kristian’s muffins from the fridge in our office. Nobody was around so I figured I was safe until Kristian asked everyone on the chat room where his muffin went… What can I say I really enjoy lemon poppy seed. It was a mystery for a few days, but once everyone found it that it was me I have been Centra’s “Muffin Man” since.

The nicest window & door showroom in Kelowna is just about ready! Looking forward to seeing everyone this Thursday night from 5 -7PM for the open house @ 2350 Acland Road. It's also the first Canadian Home Builders' Association Central Okanagan "Buildin' After Hours" networking event of the 2018/19 season.

Spent today touring and presenting at the Horizon North Manufacturing facility in Kamloops with Anton Van Dyk. Talk about a well oiled machine, these guys have pre-manufactured construction down to an art!

This morning the Kelowna Centra Windows team got together on our day off to hand out care packages to the less fortunate downtown Kelowna. We had a blast and met lots of friendly people!

This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Kelowna Senior Installer Peter Head.

Q: How long have you worked at Centra?
Peter: 4 years already.

Q: Are you a Centra shareholder/ owner?
Peter: Yes I am!

Q: What kind of work did you do before starting a career at Centra?
Peter: I have had lots of different jobs. Welding, framing, roofing and landscaping to name a few.

Q: How did you find out about Centra?
Peter: I actually found the job through a job fair.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
Peter: The variety. Each day is different, we get to work all over the interior and experience all the beautiful scenery it has to offer.

Q: What part of Kelowna do you live in?
Peter: I am currently living in the Rutland area.

Q: What is something most people wouldn't know about you?
Peter: I started collecting stamps when I was a kid, and I still have the collection going today!
