Our June Picnic in the park was a huge hit!

Many of our members came out to show off their flowers and edibles. Overall we had 27 entries - 7 for class 1, 2 for class 3, 2 in class 4, 5 in class 5, 9 in class 6, 1 in class 7, and 3 in class 8!

🚦Best Garden Selections Kelowna and West Kelowna

One of the 12 judging categories in the Best Garden Selectins contest is the best block. Show your pride by nominating your block today and tell the neighbors on both sides of the street.

The judges are looking for block where the front yards are attractive, inviting and well maintained. Maintenance can be commercial or by the resident.

Nominations can be made through the following link: https://forms.gle/xAnXK9t1yuSVXSNh8

Nominating your own block is expected. Please set the boundaries of the block or the judges will go from crossroads to crossroads and that can be more than one block.
Nominations must be in by June 11 with judging taking place June 15 and 16.

Prizes include a Yard Sign and MiracleGro fertilizer.

Today is our June Member's Picnic!

In lieu of a meeting, members can head to Guisachan Heritage Park. Great time to socialize with other members, share garden knowledge, admire the Grow and Show, and make new friends!

Come a bit early to place your grow and show entries. Bring your own picnic dinner/snacks and a lawn chair. The Club will supply drinks and dessert.

Please note this meeting is –Members Only–

If you're thinking of joining our next meeting, please visit us September 1st at the Evangel Church (3261 Gordon Dr).

📍Guisachan Heritage Park (1060 Cameron Ave)
🕕 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

🌷Grow and Show 🌼
*Class 1: “Challenge Cup for Peonies Trophy” donated by Kelowna and District Horticultural Society – one Peony, any colour, disbudded, with own foliage, in a sturdy vase.

*Class 2: “Yellow Peace Rose Trophy” – a single Yellow Peace Rose, with its own foliage , one half to three-quarters open, no side buds.

Class 3: “Lovely Lilac” – one stem of Lilac with its own greenery, any colour, in a suitable vase. May have multiple flower heads.

Class 4: “Tiny Delights” – up to three (3) Miniature Roses, any colour, any variety, in a suitable container.

Class 5: “Beauty of Rose” – an arrangement of any colour or variety of Roses, except Miniature Roses, with their own foliage, in a suitable container.

Class 6: “What’s Blooming” – your choice of flowers blooming in your garden except Peony, Rose and Lilac.

Class 7: “Edibles” – a display of vegetables and herbs from your garden attractively arranged in a small basket.

Class 8: “Show and Tell”
