We are a family owned and operated garden centre and nursery located in Keswick, Ontario. We first opened our greenhouses in 2006 and have been serving Keswick and surrounding areas since then. We know it takes a lot of TLC to keep gardens looking their best, and starting with high quality seeds and plants is where it starts. We grow almost all of our plants from seeds and care for them up until w

e are ready to give them to you; we really sell what we grow! We carry a variety of annuals, perennials, hanging baskets, patio planters, window boxes, herbs and vegetables, and ornamental grasses. We offer custom hanging basket and planter services so you can have your favourite colour combinations and plants together. We will help you come up with beautiful arrangements, just come in and chat with us!

Perennials are great for pollinators, native perennials are better! 💚

🔎 What are native plants?
They are plants that have been growing in a geographic area long before you and I.

They have evolved and adapted in this climate for generations (in other words; low maintenance 🙌🏼).

Native plants also provide food and shelter for a variety of native pollinators and wildlife.

How do you attract pollinators to your garden?!
👉 Add plants that bees and butterflies can find:
🐝 Bees have good colour vision and like blue, purple, white and yellow.
🦋 Butterflies and hummingbirds are especially attracted to red.

Come visit us in store and get yourself a native plant for your garden like an Echinacea (cone flower), Bee Balm or Rudbeckia (Black Eyed Susan)!

Hostas provide full foliage, with next to no maintenance. Shall we go on?!

🌱 Hostas come in a variety of different sizes and colours.
🌱 Hostas will continue to grow back every year (we 💚 perennials)!
🌱 Hosta flowers attract hummingbirds and pollinators like bees 🐝
🌱 Hostas are drought tolerant 💧
🌱 Hostas practically fit anywhere - some sun, some shade ☀️⛅️🌥️

Tips:
1️⃣ Rule of thumb - the lighter the leaf, the more sun they can handle.
2️⃣ Split your hosta about every 4-5 years to encourage vigorous, healthy growth and prevent crowding.

Looking for shrubs that attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds? Plant a hibiscus 🐝 🦋

Be patient … in the spring, even if you think it’s dead, it most likely isn't. Its vigorous growth rate more than makes up for this late start!

Perennial hibiscus shrubs produce huge, 7-8” ruffled blooms that are long lasting from mid-summer to early fall.

Sun: part sun to full sun (4-6+ hours of sun) ☀️
Water: average water needs (keep water moist) 💧
Size: 4’ tall x 4-5’ wide 📏

Tip: leave the woody stems standing until spring, you can cut them down to 6” tall then!

Deter critters from your herb and veggie gardens by planting marigolds, geraniums, alyssum, salvia, snapdragons and sage. 🥬🥒🍅🙅🏻‍♀️🐰

What do these plants have in common? Their smell.

Planting an edge of these flowers will *generally* deter rabbits, however if they’re hungry enough, a little smell won’t keep them out … you may need to try chicken wire!
