Most homes are already full of hard lines.
Square rooms. Rectangular walls. Linear millwork. And yet one of the most common design instincts is to hang another rectangle on the wall and call it done.
It feels safe. Familiar. Easy.
But when every element in a space reinforces the same geometry, the room starts to feel rigid without you fully understanding why.
Shape influences mood more than most people realize. A round or oval mirror introduces contrast to architectural lines, softens visual tension, and reflects light in a way that feels more organic. It disrupts the “box-on-box” effect that so many interiors unintentionally create.
When we design, we’re constantly thinking about balance. Not just colour and material, but silhouette, proportion, and flow. A curved mirror can quietly transform how a room feels without adding clutter or overwhelming the design.
Details like this seem small. They aren’t.
If you appreciate thoughtful decisions that elevate a space beyond the obvious, our Interior Digest email list is where we share deeper design strategies, practical refinements, and the trade insights that shape our projects.
