As we say goodbye to 2023, it is a great time for reflection and gratitude at Forward Urban Contractors. I am proud to say that we completed our first full year of business.
I am not one to get overly personal, but it has been the most rewarding and fulfilling year of my career. I am proud of each and every project we've completed. They have come in all shapes and sizes - some easy, some very difficult. I love the challenges and nuances of each project and the need to problem solve. I can honestly say that all of our projects were executed with our best efforts and that no matter what it took, we left the job site doing it right. For me, seeing the excitement and appreciation from the client for their new space is the best part of what we do.
From a growth perspective, it has a been a tremendous year of learning for us. We continuously work to improve our processes and craft, reflecting on each project we complete. We've also been building a lot of great relationships - rapidly expanding our supplier and subtrade network to offer the best value in our products and to ensure quality workmanship. Most importantly, I owe it to my team mate, Ryan, a true professional, who gives it 100% every day and is dedicated to bettering all that we do.
When I created the company and business plan, I wasn't focused about some unique value proposition or elaborate mission statement. I just knew that I needed a team that would provide exceptional service and work, no matter what the scale or price point of the project was. Unfortunately, with all of the tools, technology and resources available to us in this day and age, that is often harder to find in a contractor than one might expect. That's why, our one simple motto is, "NO SHORTCUTS" - Do your best. Every day. No matter what. I carry those words strongly with me into 2024.
Thank you for reading this and following along over the past year. I wish you all the very best for the new year and look forward to sharing more of our story. The best is yet to come.
Sincerely,
Jason Malfara
P.S. A special shoutout to for making us look pretty.
