Hello and thanks for reading - I may seem like the grump on the bus but !!!! Having spent time working with MEKA - GTH and a few others, there is simply no real upside to containers - They are not holistically "cheap" - cost effective etc. If you place low or zero value on labour, there may be some perceived value that ends as soon as you look at viable alternatives - That is never going to catch up to the absolute madness of life after build relegated to existence in eight foot boxes . Prefab from quality builders using 10 - 13 foot platforms gets you all the transport access needed . And if you want to DIY go to one of a variety of SIP panel firms (Structurally Insulated Panels) Two on the list Greenstone and Therma Steel are both very good .. You can arrive at a better end product with better room size - Ceiling height and design flexibility by avoiding containers.... (for context, I had a career in high end boats and know what beam means to overall quality of life - Eight feet beam was abandoned decades ago - At GTH we laid out SIP panels in varying widths and determined Eight feet was madness - Ten feet was a massive improvement - Twelve was really fine and while this went on, the logistics professional worked out transport viability of each shape as we laid them on the shop floor. If you want to travel, buy an Airstream - If it is going to a specific location make it Twelve feet wide )... Fact ...
