Ordering is simple through our online store, debit and credit accepted. You're Fresh Starts will be ready 2 days after your purchase and pick up times begin this Friday! Pick up times will be between 9am - noon & 4pm - 7pm, 7 days a week to try to accommodate everyone's schedule.

Who's as excited as us for this growing season? Spring is such an energizing time filled with hope, excitement, and anticipation.

Pictured above, a 20 gallon grow bag filled with some beautiful red bok choy, several varieties of sweet peas, and a dazzling blue kale chillin in the corner.

These fabric pots are a great choice for gardeners with limited space. These large ones can hold just about anything. We've used them to grow tomatoes, peppers, onions, greens, and our favourite, potatoes 🥔🤤

While buying seed potatoes is one of the more expensive starts to invest in, we highly recommend trying them solely for the experience of eating a fresh, out of the ground potato. The taste and texture is vastly different from grocery store potatoes.

We purchase our seed potatoes from Anything Grows, located at the Western Fair Grounds Market. They may still have some bags left if you'd like to experiment with a hands off, rewarding, tasty crop.

WE'RE OPEN! 🌱

Welcome to the first small snapshot into the Fresh Starts Test Garden! Gardening on our downtown residential lot has enabled us to try different varieties and curate a unique collection that we are now proud to offer you.

Pictured above are our sugar snap peas waking up and getting ready to reach towards the sun. Unfortunately, many varieties of edibles do not like their roots being disturbed and may suffer from being transplanted. Peas are in this group along with zucchinis, beans, sunflowers and others. This is not to say that you cannot be successful when growing these types of vegetables from starts, however, in an effort to ensure all your Fresh Starts thrive we wanted to limit our selection to those varieties which do not struggle from being transplanted.

Throughout the growing season we will be bringing you back to our Test Garden to show you tips, tricks, and the progress of the Fresh Starts '22 collection in our own urban garden.

Fresh Starts Now Available For Purchase! 🌱 Link In Bio 🌶️

Happy Mothers Day to the one mother who has raised us all, provides for us all, and is always teaching us. Her beauty, benevolence, and bounty be praised.

From the microbes in the soil to the largest creatures in the sea, our planet provides not only the essentials for life but an abundance.

This abundance has become less and less visible as commercial food industries continue to dominate our food supply chain and inner cities become more and more cut off from food production.

The awe and joy that comes from caring for a plant, watching it flower and then fruit, harvesting it, deciding how to prepare it, enjoying the complex flavours it has to offer, and finally watching it return to the ground is an essential of all life and reconnects us to those beautiful fundamentals of life on this planet. Caring for something so closely and watching it through all its stages is a microcosm for the abundance, fragility, and beauty that exists all around us.

If you would like to experience beauty, abundance, and a world of flavour that isn't present in our current food system, we invite you to check out our now opened online store front! These Fresh Starts are looking big and beautiful & are just about ready to go home with you! 🌱

We will be opening our online store front this weekend so stay tuned. We did not want to open before the weather started to warm up as we want your Fresh Starts to have a strong start in their new home. Many big box stores and nursery retailers will have plants for sale before the weather is warm enough for them to survive, leaving consumers feeling like they lack that green thumb 😕 If you've ever had this experience rest assured you are perfectly capable of caring for plants and cultivating that thumb!
We wanted to ensure this would not be anyone's experience with their Fresh Starts, deciding to wait to make our products available until the temperatures outside are just right ☀️
We want you to have a successful harvest! We will be posting tips on all our varieties throughout the season to stay connected to our growing community and be a resource to all those who have ever felt that they lacked the magic touch. Anyone can develop the skills required to have a successful garden, whether it's one pot or a large backyard. Good news - plants want to grow! They will be working right along side you to ensure a glorious harvest and so will we! 🌱

Today was their frist day outside in the sun☀️

This marks the beginning of their hardening-off period - the practice of slowly acclimatizing the seedlings to outdoor conditions. This means that when they go home with you they will be ready to be planted and won't suffer from being scolded by the sun or blown over by the wind. A strong seedling is the beginning of a successful growing season and an abundance of tasty treats 🍅🍆🌶️

Welcome to Fresh Starts!🌱

A London ON based seedling business specializing in rare and heirloom varieties. We believe in the freedom and flavour that backyard urban agriculture brings to the table.

Through these past few turbulent years food security has become a hot topic. Faced with rising food prices and employment instability, many Londoners have had to adjust buying habits. Fresh Starts believes that every household deserves to have access to high quality, fresh produce regardless of income bracket.

Whether you have multiple raised beds or a few pots on a balcony, Fresh Starts has the perfect seedlings for you. It doesn't take more than one container to start your journey towards food security.
