I don't have much experience with blossom end rot but after talking to a fellow gardener, I got curious... Internet research suggests it's not a straightforward watering problem and has to do with calcium absorption as well. I had assumed that the current year's crop of tomatoes from that plant was a write off. However, picking the affected tomatoes and spraying the plant with a foliar calcium spray sounds like it could result in saving future tomatoes. If you have blossom end rot experience, please share. Internet research is great but personal experience can't be beat!
