Today there was a bull in the garden. It made a nice hole in the cotoneaster hedge while a stubborn cowboy tried to get it out. To take advantage of the situation I found a big tractor at the farm and dumped several buckets of rotted manure, from said bull and his cronies in through the new portal. Beats dozens of trips with the little tractor.
Blooming right now, iris and the orange species lily pumilum. Still digging daylilies for orders. Nothing like May rain, big healthy plants!
I've started redoing pathways, because bulls in the garden are worse in early spring mud than late spring, think 2000 lb foot prints. The tracks are everywhere, like gopher holes to nowhere. Today's bull was merely a ballerina princess twirling about in lilies.
