Cooking with Natalka Here is where you can find the links to the recipes I test on my YouTube Channel. Welcome to my page!! My name is Natalka and I'm a Canadian living in the USA.

I love to bake, try new recipes and I love hosting events...ie..Birthday parties, summer BBQs, Thanksgiving...and just because parties. I have a YouTube channel where I post videos of testing recipes I find on Facebook, Pinterest, in my cupboards, ones friends or family have given me...pretty much any recipes that catches my attention, I will also be doing some videos of making some of my favorite

dishes without recipes. I will then post pictures on my Instagram and on this page along with the link to where I found the recipe or if it's one of my own personal recipes.

Family Fun Popcorn || Make movie night a Fun night!

Treat your taste buds to the ultimate snack with our Family Fun Popcorn! Fresh, crunchy popcorn generously coated in rich chocolate and loaded with delicious toppings for the perfect sweet and salty bite. This gourmet popcorn mix is a crowd-pleasing treat for movie nights, parties, holidays, gifts, or everyday snacking. Easy to make and impossible to resist, this chocolate covered popcorn recipe is fun for the whole family and packed with flavor in every handful!

What we did:
1. Pop about a ½ cup of popping corn. Pour into a big bowl
2. In a small separate bowl, put about ½ cup of melting chocolates of your choice (dark chocolate, white colored, milk chocolate) and melt (should be about ¼ cup when melted). You can alter this to your preference
3. We used crushed freeze dried strawberries with the pink chocolate, You can add sea salt, marshmallows, peanuts, coconut, m&ms or your favorite topping with the chocolate coating)
4. Spread on a pan so it hardens and doesn’t clump.
5. Put on your favorite movie, curl up with the family and enjoy your popcorn!!

Tonight's meal was very different for me. Indian Food!! We went to a lovely place called Pashmina in Carvoeiro.
Here is what we tried...
Butter Chicken (the dark orange colored one)
Chicken Shakotee (the light coloured one)
Basmati Rice and Naan bread.
It was an amazing meal and fantastic service.
If you're in the area, this is a must try restaurant. It was a perfect date night.

Last night we tried Chicken Piri Piri. Its a grilled chicken in a spicy sauce. It was delicious. We also tried some tuna pate, black olives and seasoned cold carrots with bread. The chicken and the bread were great 🤣🤣 Of course we finished the meal with Gelato! I found my favorite, Lemon!! My husnad had caramel.

We picked an orange off a tree next to the pool we were lounging around, got back to our AirBnB, put it on a plate to make me feel fancy with a glass of cider.....peeled the orange...DISAPPOINTMENT!! It was mushy inside amd very sour like a lemon. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Lesson partially learned, dont pick random fruit off trees 🤣

OMG...I think I've died and gone to Italian heaven...I know I'm in Portugal but damn! This was delicious. My husband had the bubbling lasagna and I had the Carbonara and to finish off the evening..Gelato!! I got Banana Mashmallow and Mint Chocolate...hubby had Tiramisu. I realize I've never made Carbonara so that will be on my list to make in a video when I get home.

Going to bed....in a food coma now 🤣🤣🤣

Best Easy Homemade Date Cake

Rich, moist, and full of sweetness, this homemade Date Cake is the perfect treat for any occasion. Made with tender dates, prunes and simple pantry ingredients, it’s soft, flavorful, and pairs beautifully with coffee or tea. Whether you’re baking for family, guests, or just craving a cozy dessert, this easy Date Cake recipe is sure to become a favorite. Perfect for holidays, afternoon snacks, or anytime you want a delicious homemade cake!

What you need:

1 cup dates chopped
3/4 cup pitted prunes chopped
1/2 cup dark raisins
1 1/4 cups water
½ cup margarine or butter cut into pieces
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
5 1/2 tsp sweetener of your choice (brown sugar, maple syrup, honey)
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
⅛ tsp cardamom
1/4 tsp Salt
Walnut pieces if desired for the top

Instructions
1. Combine dates, prunes, raisins and water in a saucepan; heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until fruit is tender and water is absorbed, about 10 minutes.
2. Remove from heat and add margarine, stirring until melted; cool.
3. Mix eggs and vanilla into fruit mixture; mix in combined flour, Equal, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom and salt.
4. Spread batter evenly in greased baking dish, 11 by 7 by 2 inches; sprinkle with walnuts if desired.
5. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until cake springs back when touched lightly, 30 to 35 minutes.
6. Cool on wire rack; cut into squares.
