Hello gardening and ecosystem restoration interested folks... there is something going on at the Grey Bruce Native Seed Bank's two locations in the next few weeks! Spring plantings! Pinnacle Rock Seed Orchard (Duncan, ON), and the smaller rock garden orchard needs to be planted at Ontario Flora Native Plant Nursery (Markdale, ON)! There is lots of work to be had on a bi-weekly basis as a site steward, every 2nd Wednesday, if you don't have time these next few weeks. There will be more fun to come.

Although the last 8 years we have been mostly wholesale, just a reminder that for our homeowner customers... in spring we offer ‘Retail Pop Up Sales’ Saturdays, 11am -5pm through May.
Can't make it on Saturday? We are a by appointment nursery, so just let us know a time and date you can make it during our business yours Monday-Friday 9:30-5:30.

Are you a Toronto dwelling urbanite, but, like the plants that make your garden wild maybe a little too fast, like Prairie Sundrops below? The excellent grass substitute Rosey Sedge, and the excellent nitrogen fixer found in the wilds close to lake shores, in southern Ontario, Wild Senna?

Wishing you could buy from our catalogue but we are too far away to drive to buy a few plants? Our next drive to Toronto is coming this Thursday... get your orders in by midday tomorrow if you can!

We will be in the east end of Toronto two Thursdays to do a drop off of orders for those interested. Might be a few more spring dates to come, as we are available, but here are the dates, and locations:

1) Thursday May 14th (4 pm to 8 pm), and
2) Thursday May 28th (4pm to 8 pm).

Anyone know the Fiddlehead Nursery owned by Ben Cesar in the town Kimberley? This year we are partnering in a smaller way to bring a table of plants to his customers through this year—just as a to compliment his plant list. Most of his nursery species are permaculture related edible trees, shrubs and perennials…we are adding a few more pollinator friendly wild / native species to his selection. Enjoy his lovely nursery! Here is the table we filled!

Important update regarding the workshop today on Ontario ephemerals here at the nursery!

Due to a high chance of rain and risk of thunderstorms we will have to postpone until next Sunday.

Tickets can be purchased until then and if you can’t make this new date let us know for a refund!
