Weโ€™re Gardening For Good.

Nurture Growth Bio is a circular economy project created by a group of passionate scientists and entrepreneurs who share a common goal: to fight climate change and reduce our carbon footprint. Our solution, we rescue food waste and use innovative science, with a little help from Mother Nature and beneficial microorganisms, to transform it into safe, earth-friendly fertilizers that give back to the

soil and add vitality to your garden.

1. WE BELIEVE IN GARDENS THAT ARE SAFE FOR ALL LIVING THINGS
Weโ€™re Gardening For Good. Thatโ€™s why our fertilizer made from food waste is 100% certified organic and safe for both people and pets. It contains no chemicals, just innovative microorganisms that give back to the earth.

2. Thatโ€™s why we rescue food waste that would otherwise end up in a landfill and transform it into safe, organic fertilizers that give back to the soil. Our goal, to fight climate change and reduce our carbon footprint. Weโ€™re for a zero waste future and a safe, effective and environmentally responsible approach to gardening. We also know that gardeners can create habitat for wildlife, and their gardens help cool their cities in the summer and improve the air quality. Itโ€™s all about gardening for good.

3. WE BELIEVE IN THE JOY AND HEALING POWER OF GARDENING
Weโ€™re Gardening For Good. Most of us love gardens, whether merely to wander in and admire, or whether weโ€™re gardeners ourselves. Gardens connect us with nature, provide stimulation for the senses and soothe our minds. Gardens and gardening are more than an interest or hobby โ€“ they are a way of life, which affects not only our physical health but also our emotional, psychological and spiritual well-being.

Did your garden survive the crazy storm last night? ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

Luckily, our zucchini seedlings made it through! The good news is that both plants survived. The challenge? Weโ€™ll probably need to separate them soon so they have enough space to grow.

This is our first time growing vegetables in a garden, and weโ€™re learning as we go. Follow along as we share our successes, mistakes, and everything in between! ๐Ÿฅ’๐ŸŒฑ

Did the storm impact your garden? Let us know in the comments.

๐Ÿฅ’ Is it too late to plant zucchini in Zone 5?

Not necessarily! There were no zucchini plants at the garden centres so we germinated seeds to grow seedlings. Yesterday, we planted them in the garden so letโ€™s see how they do!

Many zucchini varieties mature in just 45โ€“60 days, which means gardeners in Zone 5 can still plant zucchini in mid-June and harvest fresh fruit later this summer.

To improve your chances of success:
โœ… Choose a fast-maturing variety
โœ… Plant in full sun
โœ… Keep soil consistently moist
โœ… Feed your plants regularly for strong growth

Zucchini grows quickly in warm soil, and Juneโ€™s longer days can actually help young plants get off to a fast start.

So before you give up on growing zucchini this year, you may still have plenty of time!

๐ŸŒฑ Follow to find out whether I planted my zucchini in time and for more gardening tips all season long. Comment below ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป how your zucchini plants are doing ?

Learn how mycorrhizae improve crop yield by boosting nutrient uptake, root growth, and soil health for stronger plants.

Mycorrhizae are one of the most powerful tools in soil biologyโ€”but how do they actually work?

In this webinar, you'll learn how these beneficial fungi extend root systems, improve phosphorus uptake, and help crops access water more efficiently.

We'll explain how to use mycorrhizae effectively, the conditions they need to perform at their best, and the common mistakes that can limit results.

If you want stronger roots, better nutrient efficiency, and more resilient crops, this session will show you how to make soil fungi work for your farm.

From a single cutting to a thriving climber. ๐ŸŒฑ

Monstera standleyana
May 2025 โžก๏ธ June 2026

One of my favorite plants in the collection. Slow and steady growth, beautiful variegation, and surprisingly easy to care for once established.

Care Tips:
โ˜€๏ธ Bright indirect light for the best variegation
๐Ÿ’ง Water when the top 1โ€“2 inches of soil are dry
๐ŸŒฑ Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix
๐Ÿชด Give it a stake, plank, or moss pole to climb
๐Ÿƒ Higher humidity encourages faster growth
๐Ÿ”„ Rotate regularly for even growth
๐ŸŒฟ Feed monthly during spring and summer but I feed it every two weeks with Nurture Growth
โœ‚๏ธ Prune leggy growth to encourage a fuller plant
๐Ÿšซ Avoid overwateringโ€”wet roots can lead to rot
โœจ Keep leaves clean to maximize photosynthesis and show off the variegation

Watching a rare plant grow from a single cutting is one of the most rewarding parts of this hobby. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ‡ Prince Edward County Wine Grape Update ๐Ÿ‡

The 2026 growing season is off to a promising start in Prince Edward County!

Many vineyards are now at the 4-leaf stage, with some vines already showing early cluster formation. While there is still a long way to go before harvest, these early signs are encouraging and reflect the hard work that growers put into their vineyards year-round.

At Nurture Growth, weโ€™re proud to work alongside grape growers across Prince Edward County and Ontario, helping support healthier soils, stronger vines, and more sustainable vineyard production through biological solutions.

Prince Edward County is home to some of Ontarioโ€™s most beautiful vineyards, wineries, and landscapes. As the season progresses, consider planning a visit, exploring the local wine routes, and supporting the families and businesses that make PEC such a special wine region.
