This species, Trichopsis Pumila, aka the or , was added to my fish tank about 2 weeks ago due to my compulsive buying at .ca. There was 1 left at that time, and I got it after a quick check about their maximum size, the feeding requirements, and the ideal water parameters. So I met another beautiful nano fish that can live happily in my small tank. 🤗

I was worried that the fish might be too shy and timid but quickly found out that was not the case at all. It keeps itself busy all the time, and it goes every tiny space between plants all the way from the bottom to the top. It neither cares about the other 6 dwarf rasboras nor 3 amano shrimp. Eats well, not by competing with the others but by finding the sinking or floating around food.

This fish (yet to known male or female) presents a unique blue hue, especially the eyes and near the gills. The gleaming light blue is easily detectable. It's growing noticeablely (thanks to brine shrimp) and is coloring up nicely. Really, the problem here is my old phone camera...that I am refusing to change to the new device that was gifted months ago. 😅

Because I liked this fish so much, I've decided to make my new tank for more of them. After the tiger lotus sprouts, I will get more sparkling gourami and possibly a couple of pygmy corydoras.

Lastly, why showing from ? The look of this bushy pot makes me smile. I planted it in my new tank except 1 stem to propagate in my nursery. That one pot was enough for all. 💚

선물받은 최신형 폰을 두고 안쓰기도 이제 어렵겠다. 사진이 실제처럼 잘나온다면 손에 익은 이 폰과는 이별해야하는데...쉽지 않아.

단골 가게에 마침 하나가 남았던 고기를 냉큼 데려왔다. 혼자 쿠보타이 라즈보라들 사이에서 씩씩하게 사는 게 기특해서. 흔하고 싼데 그동안 몰랐던 건 가까이 보아야 예쁜 고기였기 때문이구나. 2주 만에 꽤 자라서 지느러미 무늬랑 색도 진해지는 중. 저 빛나는 하늘색이 반짝여서 어디 있어도 눈에 띈다. 겁도 없고 수조 구석구석 쉬지 않고 돌아다니며 먹을 거 없나 살피는게 그렇게 예쁘다. 얘가 얼마나 좋았는지 새로 만든 수조는 스파클링 구라미 집으로 해야겠다 싶어서 타이거 로터스 자라나오면 몇 마리 더 데려올 계획. 피그미 코리들도? 끝이 없구나.

가게에 오래 남아있던 식물들은 이렇게 무성하게 자라서 나의 기쁨이 된다. 보기만 해도 기분 좋아서 잘라 심기 전에 사진으로 남김.

It's finally done after dragging for months! Because I keep the same scaped tank for 5+ years at the least.

I'm very happy with .eco wetland substrate that I previously used in my planted betta tank. So, I repurchased Dark Artist and Midnight Sand to use them in this tank. The large size lava boulders gave me the main inspiration for the aquascape. The roundness and tumbled texture of these rocks comfort me. 😌 Other than 3 small rocks that I had to place on top of wood branches to keep them in place (because I forgot to waterlog them), the tank is all set. Thanks to the sludge from my 9 YO mature tank and the , the tank water became crystal clear within 2 days.

Wanna know what will reside in this tank? My next post will give you an idea of what animal(s) will go in the tank. 🤗

I've been busy updating all my 10 tanks. Got multiple new species of aquatic plants and fish. Among many of those new additions, here is a new betta that became a new resident in my 5.5 gallon tank. This one is a male with a good left and right side symmetry that has lovely black lips and white eyelids. 🖤🤍

Another addition, my otos are doing great. Brought home two (Macrotocinclus Affinis) about a month ago. They live in the red crystal shrimp tank, doing a great job of cleaning soft algae while annoying the shrimp with their zoomies and ungraceful swimming. I can tell that the shrimp go "wth" all the time. So fun to watch them doing their things. 😍

수조 10개 중 몇 개는 리셋하고 열심히 업데이트한 보람이 있다. 힘들어도 귀찮지 않은 물생활. 다른 바닥재를 써보면서 물잡히는 과정도 재밌고 그 안에서 자라는 수초들과 물고기들과 새우들을 보면 그들의 단순하지만 치열하고 질서있는 생장이 감동적이다.

#올해로물생활십년째 내돈내산 소중한 취미다.

Busy with the new tank and new additions to my tanks. Changed/upgraded filters for 5 tanks. HOB filter with a skimmer is now my new favorite filter.

Ordered some new plants from
All plants arrived in good condition, thanks to their meticulous winter packaging. If I wasn't so occupied with the treatment for my betta (see the story), I would have made an unboxing review.

I also discovered one unusual shrimp in one of my tanks. Pink laser shrimp is what I named her as her entire back has a thick pink marking. After finding her, I looked through all my cherry shrimp to spot any shrimp with a similar pattern but failed. Too bad that she got barried even before I separated her from the rest. She is now in a tank with shrimp with a back strip only. As I am planning to visit a couple of aquarium shops, I will look out for more of the kind.

회사 차리고 부터는 연말 정산이 번거롭고 버겁기도 해서 12월 스트레스가 높다. 회사 두 개를 혼자 처리하기가 쉽지 않은데다 나처럼 추위를 많이 타는 사람에겐 늘 견뎌내야 하는 겨울.

물생활은 안식처 같은 취미다. 다른 걸 잊고 몰두하는 일이 있는것만도 다행인데 새우들과 베타, 달팽이 수초들은 예뻐서 물멍하기 좋다. 새로 세팅중인 수조에 들어갈 수초들과 새로 꾸민 수초항에 심을 것들을 좀 (이라기엔 몇 백불 어치;) 주문했는데 생각 보다 상태가 좋고 양도 많아서 중경 수초가 더 필요한 기분에(?) 있던 포인트 쓰고 무료 배송 쿠폰도 써서 재주문. 온라인 주문해 놓은 물생활 관련 용품들이 많아서 기다림이 일상인 요즘이지만 익숙해지지는 않는다. 언제오나...빨리오길.

있는 유목들 모아 아누비아스 종류 별로 붙여서 좁고 높은 새우항에 싱글포인트로 놨더니 새우들이 되게 좋아한다. 유목 밑으로 뜬 공간이 있어 소일이 노출된 영향인듯. 10개 항 중에 5개 항에 여과기를 업그레이드 해준 것도 이유겠고. 수조안 생물들이 좋아하니까 보는 나도 좋구나.

체리 슈림프 항이 색깔 농도 별로 세 개가 있는데 등에 핑크 줄무늬가 옆쪽까지 넓게 퍼진 암컷을 발견. 비슷한 개체들이 더 있나 찾아봤지만 이렇게 넒은 무늬는 없다. 그래도 줄무늬가 있는 개체들만 따로 모아 놓고 번식해볼 예정.

Currently, I am under the spell of setting up a that has been on my to-do list forever. Finally, I can commit my time for it as I completed my project now. Year-end time is stressful, but I will have to manage it. For me, maintaining/monitoring my 9 is a great stress reliever apart from practicing yoga.

Between too many scaping ideas, choices of filters, and what to keep in the new tank...I stopped counting the number of tank ideas 😂 but i love the whole process. Narrowed down the livestock options, list, and materials to a final few. I will challenge myself to keep and some again.

In the meantime, I have a new , , that is not yet named. 🤩

끝없는 옵션과 수많은 수경 재료들 사이에서 허우적대길 몇 주.드디어 몇 가지로 좁혀졌다. 45×30×30짜리 새수조를 하염없이 바라보며 별별 아이디어를 떠올리길 반복하다 보니 힘이 빠지기도 했지만 구체적인 이미지를 그릴수록 세팅시 편하니. 되도록 가진 재료들로 만들려고 하다 보니 수경 욕심을 다스려야 하는 점이 가장 힘들다. 심플한게 제일 어렵다는. 그리고 나는 어려운 걸 좋아하지. 😂

One thing that I love doing that I can't do in Ontario is climbing up mountains. Recently, while visiting my mom in , I was able to go up the ⛰️ that is the highest point of all mountains in Seoul. The spectacular views never end throughout the journey.

The highlight of the day was the we encountered on the way. It was super tiny (look at the last video) but had absolutely no fear about me. I had to ask it to walk up onto my pinkie, and it got finally convinced to do so. Oh, I couldn't stop looking at its beauty. Above all else, it was unbelievable how relaxed it was the whole time. When I offered a drop of water on my finger, it went to the wet rock near us and showed me that the water was plentiful around. TBH, I had to fight hard not to bring it with me. 🙃

손가락에 생수를 묻혀서 마셔보라고 했더니
자긴 바위에 흐르는 물로 충분하단다.

귀여운데 거침없다.
내민 손가락을 거두지 않았더니
알았다며 올라탔다.

Walked into .ca and came out with these. I have not purchased any since I imported the last batch in Feb. 2019. I didn't think that I would ever spend 💵 on buying more buce but I was wrong. It's hard to come by a huge rhizome with dark and bushy foliage of ...😁

As I am preparing my 10th new 10g tank, (too) many varieties of and possible and fish options are on my mind. Looking around the store helped me narrow down to what the tank will have as well as how I should scape it. Their small space is full of high-grade livestocks and that are not available at pet smart. Their shop is the closest to me out of all the well-known aquatic suppliers. So glad to find a local retailer that provides a long list of options for enthusiasts like me. Thanks to the staff (sorry I didn't get his name), who was patiently hand-picked the dwarf water lettuce.

I have been neglecting my tanks doing only the bare minimum for too long. Somehow, my passion for the is fired up again, so I've been busy organizing my tanks and doing some major cleaning. I am keep being amazed how much my have grown! I will be able to offer some for sale. 😉

2016년 부터 시작해서 #새우항 #베타항 #부세항
점점 늘어나 현재는 5겔런 짜리 5개 8겔런짜리 4개를 관리중. 10겔런 짜리 항을 사서 중간에 모셔둔지 3년.도무지 컨셉이 잡히지 않아서 영감을 찾고 재료를 모으다 흥미가 떨어져 장기 방치 상태.

요즘 수조와 수초들에 대한 사랑이 스물스물 차올라
비교적 가까운 동네에 있다는 가게를 찾아가서 둘러보면서 새 수조를 어떻게 만들지 구체적인 구상을 마쳤다. 어종과 새우종류를 선택하니 필터를 뭘 쓸지, 바닥재를 뭘로 할지 정해지고 모아놓은 화산석과 수초들을 조합해 완성된 그림이 그려진다.

10번째 항에 들어와 살게 될 그들이 벌써 사랑스럽다.

👩‍🌾 how's your home farming going so far? We had a few weeks of drought that made my suffer, but the , do they?

I was lucky to get my hands on the luffa seedlings back in May. It was a bit late but not too late. Had my doubts about having them in pots but had to try my best. I didn't feel that 2025 was a good year with bees 🐝 as pollinators, but ants 🐜 and butterflies 🦋 were around, thankfully. I had no idea about until recently read about it. So far, I ONLY have one growing steadily, so that's my pride for now. ☺️

Are you familiar with the insect in the last photo? , common name or is a non-native species that is deadly cute (to me 😅) but not good news for any crops as they are sap sucking insects.

뭘 봐도 신기한 #초보농부

5월에 분에 심었던 수세미 모종들이 몇 주간 지속된 열기와 가뭄 속에서도 부지런히 꽃을 피우더니 벌,나비,개미들 중 누군가의 스침으로 열매를 맺었다. 너무 무거워서 이런 걸 달고 키우는 게 쉽지 않겠다. 끈이라도 매어줄까 싶은데 또 그냥 두고 보고 싶은 마음도 있다.

아마도 내 수세미나 조롱박 수액을 빨아먹었을 곤충이지만 너무 귀여워서 봐줌. 올라와보라고 내민 손을 요리조리 피해다니는게 더 귀여워서 봐줄 수 밖에 없었음. 새순 닮은 외모로 나를 홀린 곤충.

The downpour the other day was crazy, both good and bad ways! 😝 it was surely one of the heaviest rainfall of this year. Our rain barrel is full again👍and some of my old plants got a good shower 👍👍🪴🚿

I moved as many plants out on the deck during the rain. had so many buds, and most were bloomed immediately after the shower. Dusts are off, ☺️

Currently, there are 6 actively growing peduncles, with 1 being bloomed. I started with 3 leaves cutting back in Sep. 2023. I wonder if anyone is growing it in soil and finds that it is draught tolerate. Because my is one of the most . The cup that holds the inner pot is always filled with water, and the roots stay wet.

Unlike many other hoya flowers, the blooms of this hoya have reflexed and smooth corolla with two toned corona. The scent is also very unique as it is milky buttery bubbletea like.

it is very hard to get a good birthday present for my husband after 23 years we've been together. I spent many nights considering many things and finally got an idea. He got a new 5 ft long desk with a matching hutch, 7 drawers, and 1 cabinet. I rearranged our space to make him a nice home office. Our dining table is no longer serving as his desk. Feels like i got a . 🥰

2023년 9월에 잎 세 장 짜리 삽수를 수입해서 키움. 길이 성장을 잘하는 호야라서 돌돌 말아가며 키우기 좋다. 잎도 작아서 세팅하기도 편하고 어디 둬도 장식 효과적인 호야. 매끈한 꽃잎이 뒤로 뻗고 안쪽 별은 내 입술도 저랬으면 싶은 투톤. 버블티 코코넛 밀크티가 떠오르는 우유향이 독특하다.

#테엠아이: 23년을 살았더니 참신하고 필요한 선물 찾기가 참 어렵다. 이번 생일 선물을 고민한 시간이 유독 길었는데 몇일 밤을 생각하다 드디어 떠오른 대로. 아래 위로 서랍이 많은 155cm 너비 책상을 사서 거실 한 쪽에 홈 오피스를 꾸몄다. 이제 더이상 식탁을 책상으로 쓰지 말자고. #본업은인테리어디자이너
