Last night in Yorkville was all about art, inspiration, and meaningful conversations.
I had the chance to attend an exhibition featuring works by Mykola Zhuravel and see pieces by Jean-Michel Basquiat. I’ve always loved art that makes you stop, look deeper, and feel something beyond the visual.
Evenings like this always leave behind a special atmosphere.

Not only because of trends, but because of the way design is experienced in real life through light, materials, proportions, atmosphere, and details.

Designing Ephyr Boutique was about more than aesthetics.
Every material, texture, curve, and detail was selected to shape the atmosphere and customer experience of the space.
From limewashed surfaces and sculptural forms to custom displays and integrated details, the boutique was designed as a calm, contemporary environment for discovering niche fragrances.

Poliform Trends 2026 at Milan Design Week

This year’s interiors move further away from stark minimalism toward warmer palettes, tonal layering, sculptural forms, and hospitality-inspired living.
Some of the strongest directions seen throughout the collections:

• Integrated shelving with concealed lighting
• Monolithic forms and expressive wood veneers
• Precision detailing over visible ornament
• High-gloss accent finishes
• Patina mirror walls
• Rich tonal layering through velvet upholstery
• Stone surfaces paired with warm leather tones
• Linear suspended lighting and softened oval forms
• Oversized mirrors and sculptural seating
• High-gloss off-white furniture against textural surfaces
The overall direction feels warmer, softer, moodier, and more architectural, while maintaining the precision and restraint Italian design is known for.

This year’s kitchens feel warmer, more architectural, and deeply connected to everyday living. The kitchen is no longer just a functional space. It’s becoming the visual and emotional center of the home.

Here are some of the strongest trends I noticed during Milan Design Week:

Some installations during Milan Design Week feel more like an experience than an object, and “Origin” by Audi and Zaha Hadid Architects was definitely one of them.

Set inside the historic courtyard of Portrait Milano, the installation created a striking dialogue between futuristic form and classical architecture. The fluid metallic structure constantly changed with the light, reflections, and shadows throughout the day, making the entire space feel alive.

What stood out to me most was the atmosphere. Despite its scale and bold form, the installation felt calm and almost meditative, a quiet pause in the middle of the energy and overload of Design Week.

A beautiful example of how design can shape emotion, not just space.

Palazzo Litta never disappoints… but this felt like stepping inside a dream.

A baroque fantasy, reimagined through something completely unexpected: industrial waste. Metal mesh leftovers transformed into delicate, almost weightless forms. From an abstract cloud of fibers, the installation unfolds into ornamental details, a fully dressed ceremonial table, sculptural armchairs, even a dress… all shimmering between art and design.

There’s something powerful in this contrast. Raw material turned into something poetic. Waste becoming beauty.

And the entire exhibition at Palazzo Litta continues this dialogue. Historic interiors layered with bold, experimental installations. Craft meets concept. Tradition meets future. Each room feels like a different story, but together they create one immersive experience.

Also, such a nice surprise to meet my old friend, the talented Ukrainian designer . So fun to spend some time together during Milan Design Week 🤍

This is why Milan Design Week hits different. It’s not just about objects. It’s about emotion, transformation, and how far design can go.
