We are hiring!!
We are currently looking for a WELDER to join our team. The applicant should have a good attitude and be willing to branch out to learn new skills required to accomplish a multitude of tasks. No previous fencing experience is required.
This is a welding focused position, the ability to weld steel and use standard shop tools is a requirement.
A "C" ticket or equivalent experience (2 years minimum) .
This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Fabricate chain link, ornamental, and other gate frames, modified posts, applicable fence components and special orders.
- Build hand/guard rails.
- Support fence installers in yard and in the field.
- Safe operation of forklift, skid steer, pick up trucks and trailers.
- Maintaining safe and organized fabrication shop and applicable equipment.
- Picking 'Supply Only' orders.
- Shipping and receiving orders.
- Abiding to and knowledge and understanding of company health and safety policies, and company regulations and standards.
- Maintaining valid welding and safety certificates.

Mid-Island Fence Product's Ltd. is a branch of Tower Fence Products Ltd and Colonial Railings and make up Vancouver Island's largest fence, deck, and railings contractor.
As the lead hand, under the supervision of the project manager and branch manager, your responsibilities and positional requirements include:
- Maintaining a safe and organized work environment
- Under the supervision and direction of the Lead Field Installer, Project manager and Branch Manager - Installation of chain link, ornamental, wood, concrete, agriculture fencing and other metal fencing including gates, frames, posts and other applicable fencing components.
- assisting and supporting the Lead Field Installer
- Prepare project/ job materials and tools
- Assisting and supporting other Field Installers, Welders, and Yard Hands in the field, shop or yard
- Knowledge and experience with common carpentry and construction tools
- Bobcat, Ditchwitch and forklift operations
- Operating hydraulic and pneumatic hand tools
- Towing flat deck trailer experience
- Picking materials for Supply Only customers.
- Abiding to, and knowledging, and understanding of company health and safety policies and company regulations and standards.
- Maintaining valid and safety certificates.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must have a class 5 drivers license and reliable means of transportation to Mid-Island Fence Products yard.
- Must be willing to provide a drivers abstract
- Fence and construction experience is an asset
