Great expectations must be adjusted. I have been pushing hard to get spring planting finished, but the weather is pushing back. The tomatoes planted out last week are in for a shock with the cooler weather forecast for this weekend. Hot peppers cucumbers will just have to stay in the greenhouse longer.
And then I went to Beban Learning Gardens for 3 winter squash,but came home with 8 plants!
How does this happen? Italian White Sunflowers looked like they needed to come home with me. And there was Dill. Why not try growing that again? So it goes.
Btw the rhubarb flower is still standing. Full of seeds which I am about to collect as soon as I get a few other chores done.

I am halfway through a big job, that is putting down soaker hoses.
And still planting, beets mainly.
Another beautiful day in the garden.

NEW Irises are opening, every day is interesting. I have included a Columbine which is a great bloomer.

The Rhubarb Thing, blossom is still growing. I thought I would chop it down last week, but I saved it for some friends to see who came for tea. Most had never seen one before.
Now I have family visiting this weekend. I will let them see it and them I really must cut it down. And here it is today.

This has been such a great spring for the garden. My Rhodendrons are blooming beautifully.
