Just finishing up a job out in Parham on a nice ranch style new build. Tricky with the ICF blocks since there’s designated screw spots every 8”. This project had three different siding systems, we started with the Novik stacked stone with a detail ledge, then moved to the 4-1/2” Dutch bone siding from Mitten. Finally, in the gables we installed split cedar shake in a mocha color. Turned out great!

Did a little balcony and upper inside corner with a diverter last week. The downspouts terminated near the side gate to the backyard so we added a zip hinge to the downspout extension; allows the client to lift it up for easy access.

Just finished the valley section of LP smartside for the Carp project. You have to have an inch clearance between the shingles and the siding edge. I made a custom trim that runs along the bottom of the siding to cover the insulating foam and the ”cut edge” of the siding.

Finished a nice home out near Metcalfe last week; bright white from Gentek. Had a bit of difficulty with the roofline sagging in some spots but got the eavestrough sloped properly. Good clean work and the homeowners were very hospitable, which is always a bonus.

Had a 6” eavestrough piece delivered 50 feet long. The piece runs along the length of the back to pick up three scuppers (roof drains). installed through the vicwest aluminum siding into the parapet wall and then wrapped the eavestrough in flatstock so that it’s a clean box finished look. Turned out really clean and sharp looking.

We ran 76 foot piece of eavestrough in Gentek Cashmere and had to get out a third roller stand. it’s always nice working on ranch style homes. This one was challenging since it had two step fascia and the fascia board was sloped. Turned out awesome!

Removed the existing eavestrough system and noticed the cedar fascia board was rotten; ordered some Red Cedar from the Woodsource in Manotick.
