Well after 2 years of sitting on the ground , I finally got this larger Rainbow poplar log all milled . This species of hardwood can vary in colours , from blue , purple , green , red and other colours of the rainbow, depending on where the tree is growing, minerals in the ground will dramatically enhance the tones in the wood . Our latest dining room/ bench combo was recently delivered to it final location . I acquired this 100 yr old silver maple tree from downtown Vancouver 2 years ago , after being cut and air dried for that length of time , the wood slabs went into the kiln for 5 weeks. The process from tree to table is a long one , but well worth it in the end .
