What can be hiding inside a heat pump?

The first photo shows what we found inside the indoor unit during a recent service. The second shows what came out during cleaning. The third is the finished result.

This was inside a heat pump in our customer’s living room.

The part most people don’t realize is that this buildup is hidden inside the unit. If it’s sitting inside the heat pump, that’s the air your family is breathing every day.

A quick wipe of the filters won’t remove what builds up deep inside the system. We use a pressure washer designed specifically for heat pump coils to thoroughly clean the indoor unit and restore proper airflow.

A few shots from our Saturday call here in New West.

We were looking into issues with a heat pump and went through the system from top to bottom, checking for leaks and making sure everything was safe.

We then serviced three indoor units, bringing the cooling back into the home.

Yesterday we installed a new heat pump for a tattoo studio in Downtown New Westminster.

This home had an old leaking pressure valve on the hot water system. We replaced it with a modern expansion tank, which helps protect the tank, keeps pressure stable, and prevents future leaks.

It’s one of those things most people don’t think about until something goes wrong - but done on time, it can save you a repair or even a replacement down the line.
