Our crews have been busy out there lately, building some really beautiful, low maintenance gardens.

For this Katsura Landscaping project, we focused on refining the details that bring structure, function, and long term durability to the garden.

We installed river rock to help with drainage, reduce soil erosion, and create a clean, low maintenance surface around the planting areas. A new lumber border was added to clearly define the beds, keep materials in place, and give the landscape a crisp, intentional edge. To finish it off, we mulched the garden beds to improve moisture retention, protect plant roots, and suppress weeds helping the garden stay healthier and easier to maintain over time.

These finishing touches may seem simple, but when done properly, they improve both the performance and appearance of the landscape while extending its lifespan.

This West Van patio needed a proper reset 👌
Over time, paver patios can shift, settle, and lose their level which affects drainage, safety, and how the space feels overall. For this project, we repaired and regraded the paver patio, carefully re-levelled the surface, added a new concrete edge for long-term stability, and installed new stepping stones to improve flow through the garden. Getting this work done properly helps prevent future movement, pooling water, and uneven surfaces, while also making the patio more comfortable and enjoyable to use day to day. Great work on site by and solid teamwork from start to finish. It’s the kind of behind the scenes work that makes outdoor spaces last and perform the way they should. Small details, done properly, make a big difference.

Many people assume garden maintenance stops in winter. In reality, while visible growth slows, gardens remain active below the surface and begin preparing for the spring season ahead. Landscaping continues year-round, and February maintenance is when the groundwork is done focusing on structure, plant health, and long-term performance.

Day 2 ➜ texture & bloom, river rocks to keep things low maintenance and looking sharp all year long.

To soften the look and bring in some spring magic we planted white & pink azaleas. A perfect pop of colour against the stones! We can already picture them blooming!

The Katsura crew’s been busy this week giving this property a full refresh! We started with a detailed cleanup — raking, blowing, trimming shrubs, pruning trees, and mowing the lawn to get everything neat and tidy.

After that, we installed landscape fabric and topped it with clear crush gravel for a clean, low-maintenance finish. To complete the look, we spread a fresh layer of compost bark mulch through all the beds for rich colour and healthy soil.

Nothing beats the look of a freshly detailed garden ready for the new season!
