This deck build was done to cover up the foundation of an old pool. Decades ago, a former homeowner filled it in with rock, and built an extension OVER it.

Years later, the poor craftsmanship led to a range of problems; and here we are. A torn apart space that needs some love.

A simple, yet functional Pressure Treated deck takes back the space with some presence. While nice and hot on this side of the house, the homeowners plan to put up some shade eventually, and allow them to use it throughout the day and evening!

Annnnnnnnd it's gone. Just a quick removal of a dead Japanese Maple. The Westlynn neighborhood was developed with every house having a Japanese Maple tree to brighten the curb appeal.

After about 60 years, some of these beauties have succumbed to various diseases and environmental impacts; as well as human interference or poor management.

Dont you just love it when a Woodfibre Recovery Collab comes together? Wicked morning with McConkey Arborist Services and Phoenix Truck and Crane!

This tree slammed down on someone's house - right onto the roof of the children's sleeping bedrooms!

Luckily everyone was safe - as the house withstood the major windfallen tree thats over 2ft at 20ft high, and had a giant crown of stems the size of actual trees!

Species: Atlas Cedar "Cedrus Atlantica", a member of the Pinaceae family (Pine), and a subspecies of Lebanon Cedar "Cedrus Libani".

I've recently been posting a bunch of stuff from summer, all the compiled videos and such from last year that I never posted.

I really only post if I get a few moments late at night right before sleep, and thats if I'm not too tired. Last time was when I was super sick and just bored of lying in bed.

This added snow during the freeze thaw cycle will certainly be putting tons more weight on tree limbs, and we are seeing plenty of snowload related limb failures or entire trees falling down in many areas across the Lower Mainland.

Be wary of where you park, walk, sit, and play, as branches and heavy limbs are falling frequently. These massive things can seriously hurt you so be careful out there!

"Due to the recent cold temperatures, snow will develop Wednesday evening with snowfall accumulation ranging from 10 to 20 cm by midday Thursday."

More wicked weather is on the way for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley as Environment Canada issues a winter storm watch.

Before and After of a huge cedar hedge removal! We cleared this out, and gave the client a whack ton more space to expand their yard!

The hedge suffered tons of snow damage over the years, and were heavily overgrown.
