From tree 🌲 to table—literally. For many years, stood tall at the U of M @ Tache Hall, this massive Spruce Tree. Harvested & salvaged by it was slabbed & dried until it ended up in our hands . We cut a 4’ piece off of the large 10’ long slab, flattened + surfaced them. We then installed Hairpin legs by .
Delivered just before Christmas to be stained/sealed by the customer. These beautiful, modern pieces will serve as home office desks in their new home. More pics to come.

Charcuterie boards make perfect gifts! They are beautiful, decorative and serve a purpose. Some built & ready and more in the works! X-MAS TREES FOR A CAUSE update.....

What started out as a Christmas project for friends & family quickly turned into many firsts for both of my kids...first time raising money for a charity, first business venture, first time using different tools, and what I found really cute, was when Summer said ‘Wow Dad! My 1st job!’

It was a lot of fun. The kids took their endeavour seriously & worked really hard at it. We had great conversation & many laughs while working away on the trees.
I’ve been proud of my kids numerous times. Watching them score a big goal is pretty awesome for sure but seeing them take something on like this as they did, take it seriously and be really excited about donating to a charity—THIS is definitely a very proud dad moment!

There’s already chatter about what to take on next!

Chase & Summer donated 25% of their proceeds to the Springfield Food Bank.
Their donation amounted to $300!
CCCo. chipped in another $200 for a total donation of $500.
What a great feeling it is to help those in need!

A big Thank You to everyone who purchased trees!

A big THANK YOU 🙏 to everyone who ordered an Xmas tree 🌲! This whole idea has been very well received—my kids & I are thrilled with the orders all of the positive feedback! If you have ordered a tree but haven’t yet been notified, you will be soon as we’re pretty much caught up now so ready for pick up/delivery!
Here are a few larger custom tree requests and last picture is a beautifully decorated 🎄 tree & customer photo. Christmas is now less than 2 weeks away 😬 ! Hope that everyone is getting near being ready!

Christmas Trees for a Cause

Last week my kids, Chase 8 & Summer 10, while getting into the Christmas spirit, decided that we should work on some Christmas projects in the shop. We chatted for a bit and decided on building Trees. We built a couple of them, then fine tuned the dimensions & continued to build a bunch more (for everyone on the list that they had made).
I was super impressed with how engaged in the projects they both were. I did the cutting, then showed them how to do the glue up and clamping which they happily took on themselves. They did some sanding too and while working like little elves, their ideas began to snowball. They decided that we should make a whole bunch more and sell them. Being an entrepreneur, I can appreciate their ambition and will to make something bigger out of something small. We continued to chat about it and I suggested that we do it but that we should also donate a portion back to a local charity. We talked about giving back, especially being the time of year when not everyone is as fortunate. They loved the idea! ....What a great teaching moment from so many different angles (work ethic, responsibility, ownership, giving back, supporting a good cause...life skills in general!).
How could I not want to run with their idea?!

I wish it had all come to fruition sooner but here we are only weeks before Christmas...
We are continuing to build these trees together and they are for sale. They make for really nice Christmas decor.

Some before & afters of a recent job of a . Existing deck was 7 years old and although still structurally sound, it needed some serious maintenance. The customers opted to have it stripped down and redone with maintenance free products to avoid the need for future hassle & cost of staining, painting, etc. Trex Transcend “Rope Swing” composite decking is what we covered the deck with after the additional blocking was added and joist guard was installed to seal the frame from moisture. Aluminum handrail and new stairs finished off the build. The homeowners are thrilled with the fresh new look and now have peace of mind knowing that their new deck will last for many more years to come. As we tell all clients, ‘maintenance free’ products are fantastic but yes—more expen$ive. You’re paying the upfront cost of the higher end products to avoid the hassle and future costs associated with maintenance during the life of the product.
