Another EXCITING!! opportunity at Top Hand Ventures.
Job Opportunity: Crew Boss (Supervisor) – Top Hand Ventures Ltd.
Based in 100 Mile House, BC | Projects Across the Province
$35–$40 per hour | LOA & Travel Pay | Benefits after 90 days
Do you thrive in the outdoors, leading teams, and making sure the job gets done right the first time? We’re looking for a Crew Boss who’s as passionate about the outdoors as they
are about leading people, someone who thrives on taking a project from rough terrain to a
job well done. We’re not just building fences, we’re helping ranchers, homeowners, and
businesses solve real problems with their land, and we need a strong leader to guide our
crews in the field.
What You’ll Do:
● Lead and supervise a crew of 3–4 crew members on fencing and excavation projects
across BC.
● Build and oversee installation of cattle fencing, ranch fencing, chain link, and custom
projects in rugged and remote locations.
● Coordinate equipment operations for ground prep, clearing brush, moving material,
and setting posts.
● Ensure materials and equipment are organized and ready on site (fencing wire,
posts, tools, ATVs, chainsaws, etc.).
● Manage day-to-day job site operations — setting timelines, delegating tasks, and
ensuring deadlines are met.
● Train crew members on proper fencing techniques, equipment use, and safe work
procedures.
● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite, enforcing WorkSafeBC and BC
Forest Safety Council standards.
● Troubleshoot challenges on site (terrain issues, material shortages, or unexpected
changes) while keeping projects on track.
● Communicate clearly with clients and company leadership on progress, needs, and
outcomes.
What We’re Looking For:
● Proven experience supervising crews (3+ workers) in fencing, construction,
excavation, or forestry.
● Strong knowledge of fencing systems (barbed wire, wire mesh, chain link, gates, and
cattle guards) an asset but not required. We will train the right candidate!
● Experience running job sites with heavy equipment (excavators, tractors, ATVs,
chainsaws).
● A track record of increasing efficiency by organizing workflow and getting the best
from your crew.
● High attention to detail — you take pride in straight lines, solid posts, and a job that
lasts.
● Comfort working in remote or forested environments with rugged terrain and variable
weather.
● Strong understanding of WorkSafeBC rules and forest safety regulations.
● Excellent communication skills with both crew and clients — you can motivate your
team and keep everyone aligned.
● A proactive leader who stays calm under pressure, solves problems quickly, and
models professionalism for the crew.
Why Join Top Hand Ventures?
● Competitive pay: $35–$40 per hour depending on experience.
● Benefits after 90 days.
● LOA provided for work outside 100 Mile House + paid travel time ($5 less than hourly
wage).
● Work across some of the most beautiful landscapes in BC.
● Be part of a company that values safety, integrity, and solving problems for our
clients.
