Team Lead / Lead Carpenter – Outdoor Living Construction

**Check The Deck** is growing, and we're looking for a motivated, experienced **Working Team Lead** to join our team.
This isn't just another carpentry position. We're looking for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, leads by example, and enjoys building high-quality outdoor living spaces while mentoring others.

What You'll Build
Our projects include:
* Custom decks
* Pergolas
* Privacy walls
* Railings
* Fences
* Interlock and backyard living spaces
* Outdoor structures and specialty carpentry
Every project is unique, and quality is our standard.
Your Role
As a Working Team Lead, you'll be responsible for leading a two-person crew while remaining fully involved in the work each day.
Your responsibilities include:
* Leading and motivating a crew of two.
* Working alongside your team throughout the day.
* Reading plans and ensuring projects are built correctly.
* Coordinating daily activities to keep projects on schedule.
* Monitoring labour hours and productivity.
* Communicating regularly with ownership regarding progress, material requirements, scheduling, and any concerns.
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized job site.
* Ensuring workmanship meets Check The Deck's quality standards.
* Solving problems before they become delays.
* Delivering an exceptional customer experience on every project.
What We're Looking For
* 5+ years of carpentry or outdoor construction experience.
* Previous experience leading a crew.
* Strong knowledge of deck construction and outdoor structures.
* Ability to read drawings and construction plans.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
* Comfortable using smartphones and apps for daily communication.
* Valid driver's licence with reliable transportation.
* Ability to work efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality.
