My LinkTaps are all installed for the season. Watering my garden is so easy and controlled from my phone. They are an investment but makes looking after a large garden much easier. Great gift idea for a gardener 😉

Using the Florida weave for my peas this year. I don’t think I will go back to any other method. They are so neat and tidy what I was able to plant leeks and celery on either side of them.

It has been a very busy spring but here is my garden on June 9th. Some big changes happened to make it more low maintenance. I was lucky enough to get a huge load of wood chips from my neighbours tree cleanup and I have made use of almost all of it. I put down w**d fabric in the paths and down went wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of woodchips. No more mowing and edging the garden. Still a few beds to plant but the rain has been a bit of an issue. Hope to get everything else in the ground this week. What are some of your favourite low maintenance tricks for the garden?

It’s time to plan the spring garden! lol

I was gifted a Masterclass subscription and I just watched Intentional Eating with Michael Pollan. Well I must say it made me so happy, proud and even feeling blessed to be a home gardener. After years of gardening it is easy to forget the real benefits of a home vegetable garden isn't just amazing tasting tomatoes. Not only has it given me the ability to provide my family with real food but I don't have to worry about how the food was produced, what the food was sprayed with, how far the food traveled and how much nutritional value is left in the food by the time it reaches us. Needless to say watching this has made me more then eager for this coming seasons garden.

If you have the Masterclass subscription I recommend giving this one a watch. It will change the way you see food and the food industry. https://fb.watch/pjZ0r5ky8m/

I needed to do someting outside this morning so obviously I went for a walk in the garden. I discovered that the soil in my raised bed was thawed and very workable so logically I decided to plant more garlic! I have never planted this late. I already planted my crop for next season back in early November but I had half an empty bed and about 80 giant cloves from this years harvest begging to be planted. Can’t wait to see how they turn out in the spring! Worst case they don’t grow, anything better will make me a happy gardener. I am all for gardening experiments! If anyone needs a gardening New Year’s resolution I say try something new, think outside the box, break the rules!
