Following the recent flooding in Ottawa, we’ve been speaking with many homeowners who are in the insurance claims process and trying to understand what comes next.

One thing we’re hearing often is surprise at how much flooring prices have changed over the years.

If your flooring needs to be replaced, it can be helpful to:
✔️ Research comparable products that are available today.
✔️ Get quotes from more than one flooring supplier.
✔️ Ask questions if a settlement amount doesn’t seem to reflect the cost of replacing your flooring with a similar product.
✔️ Understand all of the options available to you through your insurance provider.

Many homeowners don’t realize they may have choices regarding where they purchase their replacement flooring and who completes the installation. Every policy and claim is different, so it’s always worth asking questions and understanding your options before making a decision.
