Most wet basements I see after a storm aren't as bad as they look.
Some are.
I'm Terry. I own Renco. Been fixing basements in Ottawa for 24 years. After that many, I can usually tell what's wrong from a photo.
If your basement got wet this week, three things to check before you call anyone:
1. Corners where the floor meets the wall. Dark stains or wet spots? Water's coming through the slab joint. Usually fixable.
2. Window wells. Water in the well, or watermarks on the inside of the frame? Drainage failed. Also fixable.
3. Cinder block or poured concrete walls. White powdery residue is called efflorescence. That's water moving through the wall, sometimes for years. That one needs attention.
Text me a photo: 613-859-9006.
I'll tell you which one you've got, how urgent it is, and whether it actually needs to be fixed today.
No quote until I see it. No sales pitch. Just an honest read.
