Are you like us and enjoy peaking through the hole around a construction site and see what's going on? Then check this out!

We are in the middle of an office build paint job right now and just finished up the first coat.

If you're wondering what YOUR office looked like before the water cooler was installed it might have been a lot like this.

Some things to note...

This is an in progress project and first coat completion, so its not perfect.

The goal with first coat is always to get as little paint on the wall, with making sure you hit every spot, and make it as smooth as possible.

A mistake we see with most DIYers and even some professionals is thinking they need to be perfect on the first coat.

This is a bad idea.

Even if you were to lather it on as thick as gravity allows there will always be low spots where you're going to see the previous colour.

(Not to mention it will be a goopy mess afterwards)

So you kinda have to accept once it is dry the first coat is going to look thin...
..but knowing second coat is (usually) going to do the job.

The goal then is to get an equal amount of "wetness" over the entire wall...
..not an equal amount of colour.

When it is done, you'll see the colour bleeding through but youll see the sheen being even. That's what you want.

And when you do two of those coats you'll have yourself some gorgeous walls!

In case you were wondering...
..this is an office where they are going to install some stick on carpeting for the trim once we are out of here...
..we don't have to cut in the baseboards so that looks like a mess on camera.

Hey everyone, Josh here from Ottawa Quality Painting!

I wanted to share a quick video with you about an exterior project we worked on last year. It’s always fun to look back at projects like this, especially when they had a few unique challenges to tackle.

In this case, the chipping and pealing paint was a big issue, but we came up with a great solution to bring it back to life—and make sure it stays looking great for years to come.

-Looking for professional painters to run painting crews / add to the team.
-Must have minimum two years painting experience for crew members and 5 years experience for crew manager.
-Must be able to cut strait lines with a brush.
-Experience using airless paint sprayer preffered.
-We are a fast growing company with many opportunities to move up through the ranks as the company grows.
-Our quality of work and customer service are unparalleled. We are looking for candidates who can uphold these standards.
-Offering 40hr work weeks every week with many opportunities to work overtime if you so desire (Will also consider part time positions).
-Having your own vehicle is a must and punctuality is key.
-We offer full payroll service with direct deposit to your bank account every second Friday.
-Employment insurance will be payed into, taxes taken out and vacation pay of 4% added on to every paycheque.
