To all the CVMG members that came out and supported the 52nd National Rally in Burford, Thank You. Lots of space and reduced dust levels where among the positive feedback we have received since June. Our new location was a huge success. We appreciated everyone’s patience while we organized the flow of traffic early Friday morning and events throughout the weekend.

After 35 years at the same location, the first year is always a struggle to organize such a large-scale change. Luckly, we have so many fantastic individuals that donated their time to make the 2026 rally a great weekend. Thank you to all those individuals, sections and committee members that volunteered throughout the year with planning and those that supported us over the weekend. It takes a lot of people in multiple areas for the weekend runs smoothly. I appreciate all the hard work that everyone put into this year’s event. We can not do it with out you!

The collection of two stroke motorcycles in our Marque display was Smokin. Dave Laver accepted the Marque award from Robbie Wilson for his 1975 Kawasaki H2 750. Barry Carr presented 3 awards for the Motorcycles I’d Love to Own and Mike Partridge presented 3 Waldridge Motor awards. Congratulations to the all the award winners.

The National Rally committee is always looking for continuous improvement ideas that we can implement to make the rally more interesting while maintaining safety for all participants. For those of you who reached out with your thoughts, comments and concerns from the Burford location, thank you. Please know that your positive comments or continuous improvement idea are welcome. These will be included in our first 2027 National Rally meeting that will be held in September 2026.

I am pleased to announce that next years Marque will be the Norton motorcycle. Essex Kent section has offer to organize and run the Norton Marque display. Stay tuned for announcements, artwork revealed and online registration information through the website, email, Facebook and the Rally Rambling section of our newsletter.

1949 Vincent-HRD Series C Black Shadow
Owner: Michael McClements, CVMG Kitchener Section Member

This 998cc motorcycle was purchased in 1966 by the owner as an original non-runner to undergo a complete frame off restoration. Over the last 60 years the owner searched out all of the necessary original parts required for the project. With the assistance of CVMG member and Vincent specialist Phil Mahood, the mechanicals were restored to original condition with reassembly completed in preparation for the first start up which occurred during the 2026 National Rally, at the Headwaters Section campsite. The sound was indeed, marvelous.

1976 Harley-Davidson Sportster XLH
Owner: Bill Corneil, CVMG Ausable River Section Member

This 1000cc, 37,700 km motorcycle was purchased from the original owner and underwent a complete bare frame restoration. The body colour is factory original, but rare, Vivid Blue Metallic. All chrome pieces were returned to show room condition. This beautifully restored package presents very nicely and is fine example of H-D’s flamboyant styling skills at their best.

Take a look for your camp or maybe see yourself walking/riding around! You may notice some areas are less filled-in as this was taken about mid-day Friday but gives us a great feel for the space, more so than just walking around and memory.

1940 Indian Four
Owner: Thomas(Tom) Wilcock, CVMG Great Pine Ridge Section Member

This 1200cc, 3 speed motorcycle was completely restored by the owner in 1980 and has been ridden regularly for the past 46 years, accumulating 74,500 miles since restoration, with travels “a mari usque ad mare” to Alaska, Yukon and Newfoundland. The owner noted that he used it as his daily driver to work for many years and that it has always been a smooth, comfortable ride.
