Gotta Say this is My Favorite Type of Project - Creative and Rewarding!
A Little Insight into the Process to Create a Relatively Low Maintenence and Sustainable Garden Space:
1. We Began by Removing every single Shrub, Bulb, and Perennial from the Beds
2. We Moved some Soil around and Cultivated for more Consistency in Bed Height and Soil Type
3, We installed a Benderboard Perimeter Edge 2ft from the House for a Discrete Gravel Bed to Prevent Splashing of Mulch and Soil onto the House and Veranda in the Future
4. Viable Shrubs were Strategically Transplanted in a Manner to Accomodate Future Growth and Maintain Space for other Plants and a Touch of Privacy in Key Areas
5. Perennials and Bulbs were Transplanted in a Purposeful Way to Fill Negative Spaces for an Explosion of Color and Texture as the Growing Season Progresses
6. And the Piece de la Resistance...A thick Top Dressing of A Compost Blend to Suppress Weeds, Retain Moisture, Improve Soil Integrity -over time - and Show Off the Garden's Colors and Textures!
Every Plant was an Original Part of the Garden and with Approriate Care this Season, Hold Promise to Shine!
With the Exception of a Specimen Plant that is Yet to Be Detemined (It's Space is Awaiting its Arrival!) The Only Material Purchase for this Rejuvenated and Re-Envisioned Garden Space was Benderboard, and Compost Mix Amendment/Top Dressing. This Project was Completed in 2 Days.
* There were only 10 Causalties of Plant Material deemed Un- viable or Un-suitable by the Completion of this Project
A Big Thank You to My Client and, Even More So, Mr. Troy Hartwell For the Helping Hands!
