Want to grow a tomato variety that will wow your friends AND your tastebuds?

One of our favourite tomatoes to grow and eat they are so delicious and super meaty as a nice slicing tomato!

Pineapple: Enormous, uniquely-patterned, yellow-red striped fruits will be the center of attention.

Beefsteak-type fruits grow to 5 inches or larger with orange-yellow with red streaks. Fruits have meaty flesh, mild flavor and no green shoulders. Heavy foliaged plants produce good yields. This low-acid heirloom is said to have originated in Kentucky.

I happen to love tomato varieties that are orange...and these Mandarin Orange tomatoes do not disappoint!

Originating from China, this lovely new variety has a heavy crop of sizeable, attractive and almost almost identical bright orange fruits, very much resembling the fruits they are named after. The fruits are crack-resistant and have thick, sweet, tasty flesh.

☀️ Light and Water: Ensure seedlings receive 12-18 hours of light daily (or a sunny south-facing window) to prevent legginess. Water from the bottom to encourage root growth.

💨 Hardening Off: Before planting outdoors, place them outside for increasing amounts of time over 7–10 days, starting in shade, to acclimate them to sun and wind.

🪏 Transplanting Outside: Only move to the garden after danger of frost passes and soil warms, preferably on a cloudy day, spacing them 18–36 inches apart.

Sorrel Plants now available for sale!

Sorrel (Rumex acetosa) is a hardy, perennial herb known for its bright, lemony, and tangy flavor, often used in salads, soups, and sauces. It is high in Vitamin C and oxalic acid, thrives in cool climates, and is often among the first greens available in spring. Common types include Garden Sorrel and French Sorrel.

👩‍🍳 Culinary Uses
Fresh: Young leaves are excellent in salads, adding a citrusy tang.
Cooked: Used in soups (like Polish szczawiowa or Armenian aveluk), sauces for fish (such as French salmon in sorrel sauce), and stews.
Pairings: Pairs well with eggs, potatoes, cream, and oily fish.

🪏 Growing Information
Conditions: Prefers full sun to partial shade, rich, moist soil, and is cold-hardy.
Spacing: Plants should be spaced about 1 - 1.5 feet apart.
Harvesting: Harvest leaves regularly to encourage new growth; removing flower stalks keeps the leaves tender.
Perennial: It returns every year, making it a reliable addition to the herb garden.

Move over Jalapeńos, there's a new spicy kid on the block! A new addition to our pepper plot in 2024 was the Orange Rocoto Spicy Pepper. We picked them when they were just starting to turn orange and if you let them fully ripen they are a beautiful orange colour.

Are you ready for this amazing black seeded hot pepper from South America? This orange perennial (zone 9 and up) hot pepper is also known as Orange Manzano Pepper, given that it is the size and shape of a crabapple under ideal conditions. They are about twice as hot as Jalapeńo peppers and can be used as spicy stuffed peppers given their bell pepper shape. They are also known as Naranja Rocoto.

This hardy pepper - also known as Tree Chili - has purple flowers, fury green leaves, spicy orange fruits the size of a crabapple and black seeds. Though this pepper cannot withstand a frost, it can handle very cool climates and therefore will grow year after year in Zone 9-11 (some say 8 but would need micro-climate or protection). Amazing addition to your food forest, this pepper has a huge footprint and after 2 years it can turn into a sprawling bush. These peppers mature in fall in warmer climates and can be pruned to one main trunk to grow over 10 ft tall or left to sprawl over a six foot+ area.

It's almost March and if you haven't started dreaming about getting outside and planting, now is the time! We have updated our available seeds on our website and marketplace and hope to have a variety of amazing plants available this year as well.

The latest edition to our seeds is the Romanian Kapia Pepper. These peppers are probably the most amazing ones I have ever eaten and they grow HUGE! Perfect for stuffing and freezing with a very mild, sweet flavour.

Packs include: 25 seeds ($5)

Kapia Pepper (Capsicum annuum) - The Kapia is grown commercially in Romania and in other parts of Eastern Europe. It ripens from green to red and has no heat. The flavor has much depth and sweetness. The Kapia Peppers resemble Hatch types and average about 8 inches in length. They bear a lot of heavy fruit, so it is advised to stake or cage them. They are great for stuffing, roasting, salads, pickling and seasoning powders. The Kapia plants grow 3 to 4 feet tall.

Small Romanian Red Garlic for sale, the best garlic tasting around and the spiciest (no wonder the vampires don’t like it!), excellent for cooking, fresh eating, drying and preserving .

Yes they are small and a bit harder to peel, but if you have a bit of time and will then it shouldn’t be a problem, and on the bright side you get way more in a pound than the next size up!

They keep well for up to 8 months if stored properly in a cool, dark, dry place.

If you've never tried Romanian Red Garlic (not to be confused with the popular Red Russian) then you're missing out on taste it’s that simple, it will blow your mind!

Also if you take your chance and plant some of the biggest cloves from your order you will be amazed of the reward later on! These garlics have not been irrigated at all this year, only what Mother Nature had to offer them, so the taste is intense and flavourful despite their size.

Only 20 pounds available of this size, the price is based on small orders only.
