It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Wilfred Hall, on May 2nd 2026 at the age of 85.

Wilf Hall established the family-owned and operated well drilling company “Wilf Hall & Sons Well Drilling”. Wilf drilled his first well in 1973 & has brought well water to thousands of people in Lanark County & surrounding areas.

Wilf will be remembered for his work ethic, passion and dedication for well drilling, & being quick witted. He will be forever missed by all of us.

Wilf Hall & Sons Well Drilling will be closed for the week (May 4th- May 8th) to allow family and employees time to mourn their loss.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

What a day! We had so much fun! We want to thank our employees and their families from Wilf Hall & Sons who took the initiative and spent their own time (during this busy season, when there is always something to do) to create and decorate a float for the Perth Santa Claus parade! We haven't participated in several years, but today the new Western Star made her grand appearance with the Grinch riding a kayak on the water truck and lots of shine on that girl! You could see yourself on every rim and wheel nut. Thank you and Merry Christmas to our customers, contractors, friends and family. It was great seeing you all out tonight!

Spring 2024 is quickly headed to summer! The heat is oppressive and tends to slow things down a bit, given the threat of heavy rain and electrical storms, but we are out there every day! If you are planning a well, remember that some wells take longer to complete than we expect and some are unexpectedly shallow. We do our best to schedule, and call the night before we are intending to arrive. But on the lighter side of things... we try to help out in the community when we can, and we are introducing "The Drillers!" Go team. Wishing you a great season!

The first week of March each year is "Groundwater Awareness Week." We will share a few points of interest.

• Although 71 per cent of the earth’s surface is water, only one per cent of that is usable.
• Ninty-nine per cent of the earth’s usable water is groundwater.
• About 9 million Canadians get their water from groundwater wells.
As the world’s population grows, so, too, does the need for clean drinking water and the likelihood for contaminated groundwater sources.
Groundwater Awareness Week is sponsored by the National Groundwater Association.

It feels good to give back! Do you ever think about first responders? How when we are having our worst day we count on them to be there for us? We don't think about what they might be giving up, a holiday dinner, a school concert, a birthday celebration? They are just "always there" for us. Today the Lanark County Paramedics and their Peer Support Team had their first Family Fun Day! So great to see all those kids enjoying an afternoon with mom and dad.. and a goat...some puppies...a bouncy castle... and Pixie Pie Face Painting!! JUST having FUN! Glad we could help out!

Enter your address and click on the blue dots. You'll find PDF files you can view. Of course, names have been eliminated to protect privacy - but you can do some solid research on your own! Remember, not all wells are on the map, but every year the number of available records increases!

This map allows you to search and view well record information from reported wells in Ontario. Full dataset is available in the Open Data catalogue.
