Framing a big garage with my friend Marvin. We've worked together over the years, so when he first got this job he invited me along for the ride. Nice tight stick-framed roofs, black steel on, and the house coming next.

Saving clients money:
"Is there any way to frame the main roof without renting a machine?"
"Yes. Get me six lifts of scaffolding and we're good."

Kitchen projects and renovations finished, simple custom slide-out drawers, a rain-day outdoor work station, and mimicking live edge with a jigsaw and a sander.

Finished shed, then insulation and a drop down (soon to be counter-weighted) set of garage attic stairs at a garage/breezeway addition I framed awhile ago. Just a couple reasons why I smile every time someone asks me what I do. "Well..." Holistic Carpentry.

Leftover siding, shingles, lumber, and patio stones at the end of a project become a snowblower shelter with side shovel storage.

Spring 2023 starting to book up already, just a friendly PSA reminder that advance planning is the only way to get projects done. Some space left in winter 2023. By the time spring comes, you'll be looking at late summer/fall depending on the scope of your project.
Planning ahead is also by far the most important factor I've found when it comes to saving money/hitting a reasonable budget... Be patient when fleshing out your projects, don't just daydream; plan. And have a great winter.

If you need a roof for a small- to mid-size project, trusses aren't your only option. They're also incredibly expensive right now. I love a good old-school stick frame, my cuts are tight and I like heights.
