Crazy Gardening Lady Creations

Crazy Gardening Lady Creations CGLC- a small home-based greenhouse, been my dream for years. CGL is my husband's pet nickname for me And that is where my love of plants and gardening began.

Since I was a small child, I have always had a fascination with spending time in the garden. I spent many a summer with my Granny and Gigi, watching them work tirelessly in their 3 large gardens. Tending to their beautiful flower beds, keeping their large, treed property immaculately manicured, you could see the love and pride that went into their home. For years I always said "If I ever win the l

ottery, I will build my dream tea garden greenhouse and landscaping design business and retire doing something I love." Then in May 2021, I lost my mom rather suddenly, and my outlook on life and priorities changed. I realized that life was too short and that I was just wasting my time wishing, decided to just go for it, and "Crazy Gardening Lady Creations" was born! The name originates from a nickname I affectionately received from my husband many moons ago. While I do not pretend to even remotely know everything about plants and gardening, but it is definitely my passion and I am always learning! My goal is to create an economical, environmentally sustainable local greenhouse business applying the 4 R (reduce, reuse, repurpose, recycle) principle. I use organic fertilizers and non-GMO seeds. I utilize companion planting methods and only use green products for getting rid of any garden pests. I love upcycling and repurposing old treasures I find into something beautiful with purpose.

People spend a small fortune on matching nursery pots, only to watch half their herbs rot while the other half crisp up in the sun. The secret isn't remembering a complicated watering schedule; it's just recognizing that a Mediterranean shrub and a woodland leafy w**d have completely different demands. Stacking some old stones into a simple spiral changes the soil drainage completely using just gravity. It's a fine project for a cool weekend this season, right before the ground properly warms up for planting.

The dahlia knows something you don't about its own weight. Those thick stems that seem to appear overnight aren't random growth spurts. They're emergency reinforcements triggered by microscopic stress signals the plant sends itself every few hours. When a dahlia senses its stems might not support the coming blooms, it quietly redirects all energy from bud development into structural engineering. The plant essentially chooses survival over beauty, building internal scaffolding instead of flowers. This happens in a three-day window that most gardeners miss entirely. The dahlia that looks like it's stalling is actually working overtime, thickening cell walls and adding support tissue. What feels like the plant being difficult is actually sophisticated self-preservation. [26IIQ]

For ages now, there has been a war waged against tomato suckers. Prune ‘em, pinch ‘em, cut ‘em off. That’s what gardeners have been told for generations. So that’s what we do. But are tomato
