Don't forget to water. Since 1 June 2022 we (in our neck of the woods) received 50% less rain than we did for the same months in 2021. Perennials, shrubs and trees are suffering because of this lack of rain. Please water, water, water or you increase the risk of already weakened plants, shrubs and trees dying over the winter.

For those who like Sumac trees, you should know there is also an invasive tree (Tree of Heaven) that is very similar and will kill off other plants, shrubs and trees.

These trees are sometimes confused because of similar compound leaf shape and occurrence in the same disturbed habitats, such as along roadsides and railroads. Recent studies prove ticks avoid the Balsam Fir tree. Planting some of these trees in your yard may help to keep ticks away from your property.
