🐝Plant of the Week: Bee Balm 🐝

If there's one plant that deserves the spotlight during Pollinator Week, it's Bee Balm!

This hardy perennial is a magnet for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, making it one of the best additions for a pollinator-friendly garden. Not only does it provide an important food source for pollinators, but it also brings a pop of colour and long lasting blooms to your garden all summer 🌸

~ Since Bee Balm belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae), its leaves carry a lovely fragrance (mildly minty, citrusy flavor with floral notes) and has the ability to spread over time

~ Is also called Wild Bergamot and thrives in full sun

~ Supports biodiversity by attracting dozens of different pollinators throughout the summer

Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day & Summer Solstice! 🌿🌞

Today, we celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples, while also welcoming the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice.

The solstice has been a time of gathering, celebration, and connection to the land for Indigenous Peoples for generations. As gardeners and growers, we're reminded of the importance of caring for the earth, learning from nature, and appreciating the abundance that this season brings.

We acknowledge that the land on which our farm and garden center are situated is within the traditional territories of diverse Indigenous groups, and we acknowledge with respect the histories, cultures, and contributions of the Beothuk, Mi'kmaq, Innu, and Inuit of this province.

We are grateful to live, work, and grow on this land.

Take a moment today to enjoy the beauty growing around you, and reflect on the deep connections between people, plants, and place.

On Father’s Day, we celebrate Mike Murray 🌿 The father behind our family business and the vision that helped it grow from a small farm stand on the side of the road into what it is today.

What began with fresh produce and a dream has transformed into a working farm, a garden nursey, landscape company and a farm to fork cafe. Through hard work and a passion for growing, Mike built a place where family, community, and agriculture come together.

These massive dahlias are sure to stop you in your tracks! Their tall and strong stems make them the perfect cut flower and are known to flower continuously into the fall 💐

~ No two blooms are alike. Café au Lait flowers can range from creamy white and blush pink to peachy beige and mauve tones, even on the same plant.

~ They're famous in the wedding industry and are one of the most requested dahlias for bridal bouquets and floral arrangements because of its romantic, vintage inspired colours.
