Crabapple Lane Vegetable and Flower Farm

Crabapple Lane Vegetable and Flower Farm Small scale sustainable farm opened in 2021 and turned homestead in 2025. No spray no till Crabapple lane farm is a small scale sustainable farm opening in 2021.

We only sell what is grown on the farm and do not use herbicides or pesticides. Vegetables and flowers are high quality and freshly picked. Our farm produces cut flowers and vegetables using sustainable methods of growing, thus resulting in good stewardship of the natural resources that the farm relies on. Sustainable methods of growing include:
1) No till, which will promote natural aeration and

drainage of the soil, save water, reduce weeds, maintain carbon in the soil, decrease soil erosion, decrease fuel, labour and equipment cost, and improves soil structure. This method subsequently leads to minimizing air, water, and climate pollution. This will be achieved by layering with soil, compost, and mulch over existing ground.
2) High density growing, that is, more plants per square foot. This will also be used in conjunction with succession planting and intercropping in order to make efficient use of the land and produce more food.
3) Build and maintain healthy soil by adding organic matter in the form of compost, ground cover crops, and organic fertilizers (seaweed, alfalfa, etc.).
4) Adopting agroforestry practices by mixing trees and shrubs into the operation, thus providing shade and shelter for plants and water resources. We are proudly woman owned and operated. We care deeply about the health of New Brunswickers and about taking care of the land we grow on. Waste free is what we strive for. We encourage customers to bring their own reusable container and bags when purchasing produce from the farm.

Ok well here’s another proud veggie moment!!! 🤯🤯 🄬 What on earth!? For years, yet again, I couldn’t grow Chinese cabbage. All a girl wanted to do was make her own kimchi from veggies she grew… fast forward to today and I’ve got some big ones on my hands. No spray, no till, it’s possible it just takes some trial and error and determination. I share these to show you what’s possible. Years or struggling to grow certain things and then finally you learn enough to make it all happen, then a groundhog eats it lol, then you try again and you get it. One vegetable at a time. My plans for this week- stir fry galore and kimchi making šŸ™ŒšŸ»

I’m proud of alot of things I grow but this one is probably it for me for 2025. I’ve been trying to successfully grow broccoli for years! Every year between the moths and the groundhogs, the warm temps, and other factors, something does them in. Not this year šŸ˜ biggest broccoli ever and it tastes amazing. Best of all, there’s lots more to come. Grown in a raised bed, variety that tolerates warmer temps, and covered in insect netting for the win šŸ†
