Have you ever grown leeks? They don’t get enough attention from home gardeners!
We like to slice up the tender portion of stem and freeze or dehydrate for year round use. They give a delicious mild onion flavour and loads of nutrients to any recipe where onions are used. Excellent in spinach dips and soups 😋
Leeks can be seeded now and they’ll pop up as soon as the snow melts next spring, or start indoors around February. They’re super easy, low maintenance and hardy, even after a hard frost!
