ANNOUNCEMENT TIME!
To all our Valued Customers;
We are extremely excited to announce that starting Summer 2023, Klein’s Paint Centre will be partnering with, Canadian Paint Manufacturer, Cloverdale Paints to begin carrying their full, and extensive line of Home, Commercial and Industrial Paint Products.
Klein’s Paint Centre has been a General Paint dealer, servicing Regina and area, for over 40 years, and we want to make it clear that we are committed to providing you with the products you want to use, with top notch service, at competitive pricing.
For the foreseeable future, we will continue to carry General Paint’s flagship products, Hi-Performance 2000, Breeze Interior and Exterior Latex, and Woodcraft Solid Colour Stains. However, since many of General Paint’s other, less common items, have been discontinued, or put on hold, to deal with supply chain constraints and higher shipping costs, we will be carrying the Cloverdale equivalent to those products, as well as their full line of stains, epoxy coatings and industrial enamels.
Our reason for making this decision was two fold; 1) We want to make sure you have the best products available at the best possible price points, and buying Canadian will mean lower shipping costs, a less volatile buying price, and be able to stock every product you need AND 2) We have always believed in buying and selling products made in Canada is going to benefit all Canadians. Since General Paint was bought by Sherwin Williams in 2015, and production was moved to the U.S., we have been unable to sell our paint as “Proudly Canadian”, and we look forward to being able to sell you products made by Canadians, for Canadians, again.
We hope you agree to help continue to shop Canadian and buy local.
What does this mean for me?
Short answer; lower prices, better product availability, and better product selection.
Long answer; We know you have been using General Paint for a long time, and we want to make sure than any products we have to transition over for you will be as seamless as possible. We are still going to be able to mix all your modern General Paint colours in the new Cloverdale products, though we may have to re-match some older colours that we don’t have current formulas for.
If we have to replace products for you, it is going to be an equal, or better, quality product, at an equal, or better, price point.
Can I still get my Hi-Performance 2000, Breeze, etc and will it look the same?
Short answer: Yes. For the time being, and the foreseeable future, we will be able to supply you with Breeze, Hi-Performance 2000 and Woodcraft Solid Colour stains, and they should MOSTLY come out looking the exact same.
Longer answer: There have been some changes to the actual makeup of those products over the years, but other than the sheen slightly changing over time, those products are still going to be the same as they have ever been.
The products that are not going to be available going forward, that you may be used to buying from us are limited to Woodcraft Semi-Transparent Stains (18-Line), Porch and Floor Enamels (41-Line and 43-Line), Envirogard (15-Line), as well as the industrial coatings like Weather-It and Krylon Industrial Coatings. Most of these products have been discontinued over the last couple of years, and part of our reason for this move is to ensure that we do have a good Semi-Transparent Stain to rival the Woodcraft line (Cloverdale Sharkskin Semi-Transparent), a good quality floor coating at a fair price (Cloverdale Porch and Floor Enamel), and a strong bonding, resilient and low-VOC institutional coating that can go toe-to-toe with Envirogard (Cloverdale Ecologic).
Will you still have my colours and account history on file?
For the most part yes. If you were previously getting Hi-Performance 2000, Breeze or Woodcraft Solid Colour Stain mixed up, we will be able to continue mixing those products for you. However, if you had a tinted gallon of Porch and Floor Enamel, Envirogard, or Woodcraft Semi-Transparent stain previously mixed up, we may need to re-match that colour for you by asking you to either bring us in your old paint can, or a sample of the colour you need mixed up, for us to match.
Please let us know if you have any questions, or concerns regarding this transition.
Thank you for your patience while we navigate this new line of products we are beginning to sell. We deeply appreciate and value your patronage, and hope to continue serving you for many years to come.
Regards,
Devin Klein & Erin Harle
